The pins reduce the area making contact for cooling, so really if you bend or break off all of the pins on the socket, you’ll get optimal heat dissipation.

I tried this and can confirm, my cpu doesn’t get hot anymore.

There’s no thermal paste in there either. That’s going to overheat.

They should be marking where they're going to solder in grease pencil before they do it too.

Now imagine a room with an infinite number of computer chimps, at least one of them is going to make the machine work again. Another one is going to write the works of Shakespeare in soldering tin all over the motherboard, etc.
