Lemmy, what’s your favorite local menu item right now?

How local do you mean?

There is an icecream brand based around 20 miles from me that makes some spectacular Gooseberry and Elderflower icecream.

There is also an artisanal bakery about the same distance the other way that does some of the best pizzas that I have ever had, as it happens.

Either of those probably.

European local VS American local. XD

I'm in the UK, but I live in a small village. The nearest place with a menu at all (a pub) is about 3 miles away. There is a bakery around the same distance - but their bread is nothing to write home about.

Closest small town - 6 miles - has a few choices but also nothing really outstanding. If I had to choose from there, there is a pizza place with an decently spicy Vesuvio. To get to actual food producers of any size or quality I need to go further afield. One of these is based on a farm. The other in an old malthouse - both also in the middle of nowhere.

Crispy fried duck bowl. Found a place less than 1km from where I live that not only stays open until midnight (which is great because I work late), but also makes the best crispy duck I've had in a long time.

There's a breakfast joint near my place that has amazing hollandaise sauce. The meal I normally order comes with eggs and an English muffin, I order a side of the sauce and make my own eggs Benedict to go with my main meal.

eggnog. it's not a menu item, but a local creamery releases a seasonal eggnog this time of the year.

Birria ramen from my local Mexican place. That soup is crack for the taste buds. Many places try to replicate it but no one comes close

Dominoes Philly Cheesesteak pizza is legendary.

There's a cafe couple blocks from my house that makes such good cafe con leche. Literally when I walk in I hear the guy yell to the line "un grande sin azucar!" Because always I get the coffee. They also make a ridiculous bacon egg and cheese sandwich on Cuban bread that will keep you full all day.

Local as in something my village makes? Fish and chips maybe. Local food here is rather generic.

It's not really a menu item, but I love Obatzda
