there are far fewer users than on Reddit—so it’s kind of quiet over there right now

I don’t even… on my server’s “new” feed, I’m getting posts every minute. Literally. I have no idea how that’s “quiet” lol

The no upvotes or downvotes comment is much more egregious. You can literally check this website and prove that false in less than 5 seconds. Boggles my mind how something so blantly untruthful managed to make it into a major publication.

I wouldn’t say everything. The only things they got wrong were them saying that there’s no upvote and downvote buttons, and saying that it’s really quiet due to the lack of users.

If that's the article OP is referring to, I only see one typo (a missing /c/) and one laughably false error:

Lemmy does not have upvote and downvote buttons

They don't say much else.

There seems to be something weird about upvotes, I swear it went from 700 to 1600 in like 5 minutes and there isn't even content on this post, just a title.

yeah, votes are sometimes being cached by the browser incorrectly, to see actual votes go to your profile, and refresh the page

It's like someone has told them there's no karma and they've misunderstood. Also kind of misses kbin and Lemmy are federated.
