It’s Twitter. No need to adopt his pet name for it.

I thought it was Xitter, where the X is pronounced with the Chinese "sh" pronunciation.

Exactly. It's now Xitter, pronounced as "Shitter".

In Europe, the chocolate bar "Twix" was called "Raider" until the 1990s or so. When they changed the name, they ran a famous ad campaign with the slogan "Raider is now called Twix!" which is still not only remembered but even became an ironic saying (at least in Germany) for when things (try to make it) seem like they change but they actually stay the same.

So... Twitter is now obviously called Twix for me.

I"m conflicted because I hate deadnaming people....

But corpos aren't people, so fuck em

In other news, Elon Musk sues Fidelity...

He buys them.

This is what he did when he bought Twitter. He removed that guy who was posting his plane/traveling schedule. I'm sure he was this petty.

How is this "Technology"?

Twitter is a technology company, therefore, it is relevant technology news. Complaining every time Twitter news appears here will not stop Twitter news from appearing here.

It's not Twitter=bad, it's about Twitter valuation. I don't care what company it is, if it's about financial valuations then it's not really tech related. Just my opinion. I want to be able to find what I want where, if I wanted valuations I would seek out a finance community.

It’s not Twitter=bad, it’s about Twitter valuation.

except there’s a very clear connection between these two which is tech related: Twitter, a tech company.

I want to be able to find what I want where

here’s the thing: this isn’t your community tailored for your specific tastes. if that’s what you want, you’re free to make your own community with blackjack and hookers and whatever you want in it. This, here, is a community for technology news and articles, and Twitter news - because it is a tech company which does tech things - is considered tech news. complaining about it will not stop Twitter news from appearing here, no matter what ridiculous reasoning you come up with.

I don’t like sports, but if Microsoft released a new FIFA game for Xbox, it would be equally bonkers for me to whine that sports were being discussed in a tech community because I only come here for tech news, not sports/esports/gaming/Microsoft news.

Let's not pretend these things make it because they are tech related, we all know it's simply Musk gets clicks. If I start posting articles about the financial health of any FAANG or smaller company, they would remain down or unvoted like everything else.

Your argument would make sense if it included other tech companies, however for some reason it always seems to be Twitter. And I can complain because we all know there are thousands of communities with no traction and daily posts of "how do ai advertise for my community". Might as well rename it to "Twitter updates and other unrelated tech news"

I repeat:

This, here, is a community for technology news and articles, and Twitter news - because it is a tech company which does tech things - is considered tech news. complaining about it will not stop Twitter news from appearing here, no matter what ridiculous reasoning you come up with.

also, you say:

Your argument would make sense if it included other tech companies

I did: I cited Microsoft in my second example. once again, no matter what absurd excuse you devise for your whining and complaining, Twitter news is tech news, and it will continue to appear here.
