How do people even care about Reddit to log in and interact at this point?

Never underestimate a persons susceptibility to outrage and anger in the pursuit of fulfilling boredom, feeling some sense of purpose or even in response to some type of insecurity.

Assuming that the protesters only visit Reddit to send a message through Place, they are a drop in a bucket compared to the site-wide traffic generated by bots and the people who stayed, do not hinder the goal of sending that message.

spez: "you see, we can still draw considerable site traffic on command, so your investment will certainly yield rewards. now, about our upcoming IPO..."

Based. Outrage clicks are still clicks, and clicks still lead to better metrics for the IPO. No publicity is bad publicity in the age of outrage media
