When "I gotta post on this" turns into "no one cares what I think" real quick. (I almost deleted this)

Or I don't know how to write what I want to say

Language arts teacher here: for a generation that conducts the majority of your social life in text format... You should have paid more attention in my class!

Sometimes it turns into "fuck it, I'll inflict myself on everyone's eyes anyway". (The temptation to delete is strong though)

If I can't be a warrior in the frontlines, let me be one on the keyboard at least

Do it anyway. Lemmy will sink or swim based on interaction.

We need your comments!

Yeah I end up blathering away more now on Lemmy than I did on Reddit. Like some post over there with 1000 comments: 1, nobody's reading them all and 2, somebody already commented what I was going to say.

I feel like I'm going to post more aggressively here than Reddit because 1) this place needs content 2) you can actually be seen, even in popular posts which was not the case in Reddit 3) less echo chamber shit (I think)

Just do it! I have a few doozies in my comment history but I think it was fun experience either way. Worst case you learn what sucks, best case you discover some cool new social interactions.

[Insert Padme/Anakin 4 panel meme] [Padme]: But you're going to reply to this comment, aren't you?

[Padme]: Aren't you?

It happens to me too often because I always believe people will shit on what I have to say. Gotta improve my confidence.

Not me, writing a response to this... then deleting it because it's not good enough 🙈

Regardless of the perceived merit of your post I think we would all just appreciate a little more participation here.

I don't know, for me quality definitely wins out over quantity.

Thank you for using "number of" instead of incorrectly using amount as is the current trend.

I can’t claim too much credit, this meme is from the before times.

Non-native here, can you explain why?

Amount is for things you cannot count. For example, an amount of water. If you can count it, use number of.

HOWEVER, English is not a dead language, so the definition of amount may just be changing.

Fire me it's half the time when a community requires a language and my preferred so doesn't support selecting one yet.
