The US is moving quickly to boost Israel's military. A look at what assistance it's providing
apnews.com

United States is rapidly increasing support to Israel. This assistance includes the deployment of warships and aircraft to the region, with a second carrier strike group dispatched from Virginia.

Special operations forces are aiding Israel in planning and intelligence, with the initial shipment of munitions already delivered.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is set to meet with Israeli leaders to discuss further aid. The U.S. is primarily focused on deterring potential regional conflicts, with a particular emphasis on Hezbollah and Iran.

The U.S. is also sending Navy ships, including aircraft carriers, which provide various capabilities, and has ordered additional warplanes for Middle East bases.

When was the last time USA sent that much support during which Israel was bombing Gaza, anyone? anyone?

I don't know about you, but I'm now starting to consider something is being cooked.

When was the last time the US had issues with supporting an entity that violates human rights and commits war crimes.

Plenty of examples of the US arming those up. Only to later start a war against them.

The following is all speculation and beyond what little they officially say all we can do is to speculate at this point, but the first hint is how the Hamas terrorist attack surprised every intelligence agency out there.

Egypt only vaguely warned of ā€œsomething big going to happenā€. The Mossad also surely has Palestinian informants in Gaza and yet didnā€™t manage to get any intel about the attack. Thatā€™s not normal at all, and no I donā€™t think Iran is all that powerful to be able to help Hamas not only coordinate the attack but to also do the preparations in a way that went unnoticed by intelligence agencies for a long time.

My money for now is on Russia being directly involved to open a new front against the West and distract from Ukraine, otherwise the orders by the UK and the US to send warships there make no sense, the US just sent its second carrier today.

Not sure why you are being downvoted. Of course Russia is involved. They are allied with Iran and Hamas is a proxy for Iran. The next action will be in Asia unless cooler heads prevail.

Itā€™s just a simple thing with russia: they always support the right opposite of what USA supports even at the cost of supporting terrorists such as Hamas. Thatā€™s simply sad.

Because if there's anything these genocidal assholes need it's more weapons.

How about a swift kick in the ass instead? A hearty "lol get fucked" perhaps? Or maybe just a simple reminder that this is, in fact, a hell of their own making.

Unfortunately, 100% of one US party and 66% of the other have bound themselves up in uncritical support for Israel.

I would interpret it as there are literally terrorists against Israel. There are no excuses for supporting terrorism.

Agreed. So they should stop supporting Israel entirely.

Israel is not a terrorist state. Unlike Gaza and West bank :|

Terrorist
noun
a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.

Are the Israelis using violence and intimidation? Yes.

Are they using it against civilians? Yes.

Is it in pursuit of political aims? Absolutely.

Then by definition, Israel is a terrorist state.

Obviously there will be some civil cases if there is a war. But again, the war would not be the case if Hamas (which is btw considered a terrorist organization by both EU and other states), didn't start a war.

How exactly is israel attacking civilians living in Gaza? Did they start shooting people in Gaza for no reason?

Is it Israel or Hamas who purposefully uses civilians as a shield and builds buildings for the army in the middle of inhibited zones?

Obviously there will be some civil cases if there is a war.

Then why is Hamas the only side being classified as a terrorist organisation? If Hamas does it, they're terrorists. If Israel does it, then "obviously there will be some civil cases because war!". Seriously?

But again, the war would not be the case if Hamas (which is btw considered a terrorist organization by both EU and other states), didn't start a war.

If Hamas didn't start it? Are you insane? How long does Israel keep taking land before people say enough?

Are they supposed to tolerate this bullshit forever?

How many children need to die before you start being realistic about what's happening here?

How exactly is israel attacking civilians living in Gaza? Did they start shooting people in Gaza for no reason?

Uhh, yes? For years and years! In the correct war, It's not exactly hard to find evidence of children being murdered.

They're bombing people on the safe routes they designated for civilians

And deliberately shot at medical services to let the injured civilians die..

There's so, so much more, including the use of white phosphorus, dropping 6000 bombs on densely populated residential zones with refugees, and gave a ridiculous order to evacuate that is a death sentence to the most vulnerable, and shut off water to starve civilians already fighting for their lives.

Make excuses for the above.

Is it Israel or Hamas who purposefully uses civilians as a shield and builds buildings for the army in the middle of inhibited zones?

That's your defense? Do I approve of Hamas? No. Of course not. But there's no way you can condemn Hamas' actions whilst condoning Israel's.

Hamas exists because one of the the most densely populated places on earth is also the world's largest open air prison in an apartheid state witnessing a genocide. Everyone fighting for Hamas was born into this hell and grew up seeing their homes taken or destroyed, their families murdered and any chance for peace squandered. Israel created Hamas, and is absolutely loving the current situation that has given them a free ticket to grab half of Gaza with the rest of the world's support.

And Egypt warned Israel of the attack. , confirmed by the US. You would think that there would be an extra strong line of defence by Israel at the time, but they were caught completely off guard. It just doesn't make sense unless they wanted it. And look at who benefits from this. Hamas gains nothing. Palestine gains nothing. Israel gains more land that they've been promising to take.

Hamas is not a product of Israel. Itā€™s the product of the fact that palestinian governments refused numerous proposals and chose the way of fighting and inhumane.

Unfortunately, at this point of time I don't see any solution other than one side destroying the other. This will hurt both palestinians and israelis

Israel is a state of apartheid.

How exactly? I donā€™t see how Israel attacks its own citizens. Sure, some views of today's government are extreme and I strongly disagree with them (especially with people around Itamar Ben-Gvir) but at the same time there is a considerable amount of arabs being normal Israeli citizens. Needless to say, comments of those far-right idiots do not help, just like terrorist attacks by Hamas do not.

Also don't forget that Israel was giving water and electricity to Gaza for a long time. Gaza's government was for 70 years unable to solve this problem. Instead of doing the best to improve their citizens' lives, they focused on destroying Israel, killing jews and building military facilities in the middle of inhibited areas.

So then we shouldn't support Israel or Hamas. Since both of them act like terrorists.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON (AP) ā€” Within hours of the horrific attack by Hamas, the U.S. began moving warships and aircraft to the region to be ready to provide Israel with whatever it needed to respond.

ā€œWeā€™re surging additional military assistance, including ammunition and interceptors to replenish Iron Dome,ā€ President Joe Biden said Tuesday.

One of the most visible examples of the U.S. response was the announcement just hours after the attacks that the Pentagon would redirect the Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group to sail toward Israel.

The planes provide early warnings on missile launches, conduct surveillance and manage the airspace, not only detecting enemy aircraft but also directing U.S. movements.

And the carriers can flex to provide significant capabilities for humanitarian work, including onboard hospitals with ICUs, emergency rooms, medics, surgeons and doctors.

Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall said Tuesday at an Atlantic Council event that the service was directing units that were about to come home to remain in place along with their replacements.
