Yeah... this community seems to be pretty much dead. Last time I'll be posting here. I will however be continuing to post at !memes@lemmy.world for those who care.

Sopuli is having a federation issue, where outgoing data is failing to federate. You can post to the communities there, but content is failing to federate to other instances out from sopuli, meaning almost no-one is getting to see sopuli-related posts and comments. (Only sopuli and whatever instance the content originates at, few others)

This post currently has triple the votes over on sopuli, and a comment by me from my sopuli account, all of which aren't syncing back to lemmy.world

I'm from sh.itjust.works and can see this post in my feed

Noticing the same. Sopuli seems to have recovered, and is now syncing up, though slowly.

Votes and really new posts and comments are still out of sync. As of writing this, my comment made on this post, using my sopuli account, still isn't on lemmy.world.

I only just got the notification for this. Wow it took a while for federation to catch up to itself. Sorry

Sopuli was having a federation issue, where outgoing data was failing to federate. You could post to the communities here, but the posts wouldn't federate to other instances out from sopuli, meaning almost no-one actually got to see those sopuli-related posts and comments.

That this post got traction, and if you see this, indicates it seems to have been resolved.

Edit: nope, still happening

I'm seeing it on a shit just works account so I think it's fixed

Seems to be now, yeah.

Federation to lemmy.world still seems borked. Posts only show up there if I put in their sopuli url in search, like opening a community that isn't federated yet...

I think websites do this when they want to force you to change your password every so often (which is a really bad policy btw), but didn't bother actually making a popup for it, so they just fuck with the database to invalidate everyone's passwords every so often.
