Why is it said that you should not put conditioner in your head but only put it on hair ?

As someone who cuts his hair short its impossible for me to do it so am i gonna suffer any damage ? Should i just use only shampoo and cut out conditioner fully ? Neither the shampoo bottle or any reputable sites have answered me yet so i would appreciete some answers.

It won't hurt you. It's just that conditioner on your scalp isn't as effective as conditioner on your hair.

You're doing it perfectly.

Conditioner is primarily to keep your hair, not scalp, soft and moisturized. Shampoo is intended to clean your scalp along with your hair. There's no harm in conditioner getting on your scalp, but it's not really useful. So you're better off concentrating it on the length of your hair.

Why is it said you should not put conditioner in your head...

Because it's for your hair and not intended to go inside your body.

In all seriousness: Who said not to put it on your skin? Every conditioner I've ever used clearly states to massage it into your scalp and hair. Maybe it's just the difference between leave-in vs rinse; I always get the rinse kind.

No. It's fine. Condition away.

If your hair behaves better with conditioner, consider using it as leave in, use less and just on the longer part of your hair, saves money and works better; but no it won't damage your scalp, it's just a moisturizer, like you would use on your face.

I have never used conditioner in my whole life and I'm doing pretty fine 👍👍

Your politivally in correct tho.

/s. Sheesh do some people need it.

Conditioner can clog your pores and cause irritation to your skin. As long as you're careful with it conditioner is unlikely to cause problems when used on your hair.

Short hair doesn't need or benefit much from conditioner. I would recommended trying shampoo only, and adding conditioner only if needed.

How short is your hair actually? Short hair for a man can mean something different than short hair for a woman. Men rarely use conditioner so if your hair is the length of an ordinary men's style you're probably fine without.

Conditioner is a kind of glue. If it went inside your head, you would get a sticky brain.

I have some spray on leave in conditioner that just applies a thin mist of oils that you message into the mids and ends of your hair (I have long hair). It would probably work for short hair as well just instead of rubbing you'd comb it through.
