There's exactly no reason why that asshole should be able to ask the supreme court a goddamn thing.

Anyone can ask the SCOTUS to consider their case. But they usually decline.

Yeah, but this court picks up stupid cases that Fox News prime time is complaining about.

How about when someone gets sentenced to prison, they - I dunno - get sent to fucking prison by the law enforcement personnel in the fucking courtroom?

Doesn't always work that way, may not even be a usual thing. The meth heads down the street had well over a month, which time they used to strip their trailer down and sell it all, including the floors.

How is his prison sentence only FOUR MONTHS???

Because it's only for contempt of Congress.

He was facing criminal charges for defrauding people during a scheme to build a border wall, but the orange turd pardoned him before those went anywhere.

It's for defying a subpoena, not contempt of congress.

He also verbally threatened multiple people in Congress, dared them to arrest him, and threatened the judge who ordered him to jail while on air just a few weeks ago from what I remember. He's still trying to appeal his initial conviction, but the judge said he needs to start serving for defying the subpoena now and await response while in jail like anyone else.

It's for defying a subpoena, not contempt of congress.

Oh yeah. I was thinking contempt of Congress was the penalty for defying a subpoena.

He also verbally threatened multiple people in Congress, dared them to arrest him

I must've tuned that part out, but it does sound like something that POS would do.

pardoned

It's too bad there is not a way to have a pardon from a "president" like donnie invalidated for donnie being a traitor. Same with naming justices.

Our Constitution needs some updates...

Hes got charges in NY State Court of:

Two counts of money laundering, which carry a maximum sentence of five to 15 years in prison, as well as additional felony counts of conspiracy and scheme to defraud along with one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to defraud.

His comeuppance is a-coming 😃

His comeuppance is a-coming 😃

Only if all of you Americans go vote coming November, otherwise he will get pardoned

Trump (or any other president) can’t issue pardons for state-level crimes, only federal crimes. So, if you’re friends with any presidents, make sure to only do crimes in DC (which isn’t a state for anyone not familiar with America’s absurd system).

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, asked the Supreme Court on Friday to delay his prison sentence while he fights his convictions for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the attack on U.S. Capitol.

The request came after a federal appeals court panel rejected his bid to avoid reporting to prison by July 1 to serve his four-month sentence.

Bannon was convicted nearly two years ago of two counts of contempt of Congress: one for refusing to sit for a deposition with the Jan. 6 House Committee and the other for refusing to provide documents related to his involvement in Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 presidential election loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

His previous attorney told him that the subpoena was invalid because the Republican former president has asserted executive privilege and the committee would not allow a Trump lawyer in the room.

Bannon is also facing criminal charges in New York state court alleging he duped donors who gave money to build a wall along the U.S. southern border.

Bannon has pleaded not guilty to money laundering, conspiracy, fraud and other charges, and that trial has been postponed until at least the end of September.

He didn't want to go to Congress either.
