Have you voted?

Not telling you here, who to vote for, but please try to vote! Thank you!!!!

Friendly reminder: many people on Lemmy, let alone the Fediverse as a whole, are not American.

With that being said, no, no, I haven't voted. But I plan to on Election Day! :)

Down with fascism! °o°i

Same here! I'm Canadian and, while we may have a snap election at any time given the current situation, our next scheduled federal election isn't for almost a year.

Our next big elections are in September 2025, it will be my first time voting! ^^ (I only got citizenship a month ago)

Yep, my wife, myself and a group of about 20 friends all did early mail-in ballots. Had a barbecue, played some board games, then filled out our ballots and went to the post office box to drop them off. All confirmed received in the middle of September.

Where the fuck did you get "about 20 friends"? I mean, holy shit, are you the extrovert guy from this meme?

Those 20 friends are my chosen family. We meet up every couple months for a hangout. The only time I actually socialize really. Been together for nearly 20 years. I haven seen a blood relative in maybe 7 years and that was due to my sisters funeral.

You bet, mail in absentee. Confirmed received by the clerk 9/30

i used to live in texas and every time i both didn't qualify for mail in voting and the hours long wait at the ballot place turned me away despite my best efforts. (i wish that portable personal urinals with privacy and dinner delivery to polling places with garbage cleanup were things).

i live in an affluent area of a blue state now like i used to and i plan on voting since i know i'll be in and out in less than 5 minutes like i was in the past.

i'm going to vote third party to show that i'm not onboard w a genocide committed by the same system & people that genocided my ancestors out of existence in this country.

I still find it so baffling that red states are limiting the number of polling places to make it as inconvenient as possible to vote. Surely that reduces the willingness to vote of their own base too. Given the electoral college, jerrymandering, and voter roll purges, you'd think they'd be satisfied with how things are rigged already without resorting to blatant disenfranchisement.

It would be cool for you guys to have a viable third party, so you should try to make that a reality outside of just voting if you can. I'm sure they would appreciate a donation or another volunteer after the election and local efforts are often more meaningful long-term since they help create the grassroots support that leads to national viability.

WTF, that sounds criminal. I never had to wait in line for more than a few minutes, if at all. And everyone can mail in their vote.

I would strongly urge you to reconsider this voting strategy. By voting 3rd party, you are saying that you are fine with Donald Trump becoming president again which I believe is many times worse than what you have a problem with the current administration. Is him becoming elected really a better outcome for the overall future? While an important issue to you, you’re exposing a flaw in our election system in that your non-vote is just about the equivalent of a vote for Trump.

Dropped my ballot in a dropbox 30 minutes ago. My ballot was surprisingly big but I took my time filling it out over 3 days to not get burnt out

Yes! Whole family AND friends and even friends who were gonna throw away their votes (changed their mind and voted well). Got people in big big online group chats to vote as well. Fingers crossed for the good outcome :)
