Would you want your troublesome ex spouse to be super successful or super unsuccessful on onlyfans ? And why ?

Asking for a friend who is writing a novel

14

Is their being successful going to be used by them to make my life worse? If not, I wish them all the success in the world.

I mean, sure - why not? Like Ada said, if it isn't going to cause any negative impact on me, there isn't a reason for me to object that I can think of.

I would be a bit concerned about the hazards of drawing a lot of attention to yourself on the internet, because of the vile people on the internet - but aside from a brief note about it (if they asked for my opinion), that's really all I'd have to say on the matter.

Super unsuccessful on onlyfans is quite funny.

I would rather they be successful. That way its much less likely that I'd get caught up in their bullshit again.

Assuming I really hated them and wanted them to suffer, I'd rather that they be super successful.

I'd want them to be successful enough that people not only have sexual fantasies on them, but also, deranged fans that stalk and harass them. The harassment, stalking, and the "pressures of celebrity" would also likely lead them into a downward spiral. Perhaps the only downside to this is that a crazy enough fan would abduct them, and kill them. If I really hated that ex's guts, I'd rather them suffer until they either spectacularly implode in public, or fade into obscurity only to resurface in the news as one of those "Where they are now?" articles showing their extremely sorry state.

Otherwise, I don't really care. They're not my problem anymore. They'd have far better chances of living a normal life if they were super unsuccessful, though, so there's that.

What an odd and unhinged fantasy

Eh, given that it's for a novel, odd and unhinged is a good thing, right?

It's the kind of comment that ends up being used as evidence in their stalking/harassment/rape/murder trial...

That's true. My alibi though would be that I've never left my room for years.

Honestly though, I'd rather my exes live out their lives peacefully as I would like my life to be--hence all the "assuming XYZ" in my OP.

I'd love it if this were a small detail in a larger story. It could be an interesting underlying storyline to show the main character's growth in starting off relishing in the fact that their ex couldn't get people interested in their body, and then maybe pitying them, and finally anonymously tipping them, realizing that maybe if they had appreciated their ex's body a little more then maybe things would be different. But being able to make them smile again and make them feel good about their body makes the main character see that life goes on and that there's plenty of good in the world if you're brave enough to kickstart it.

But I'm not a writer. I'm sure your friend has better ideas.

I don't have many exes, but I always hope they'll be successful in all the cool stuff that they do. Definitely same goes here!

Now the real quandary is, what are the ethics of looking at your exe's OnlyFans? Do you ask them first? Is it weird?

I'd want them to be just successful enough that they keep doing it - plowing time and energy that could otherwise be spent on fulfilling hobbies or real relationships - but not so successful that they could really commit to it. Like if they made ~$100/week, it's not nothing but is it really worth the dozens of hours on weekends and evenings that you are spending to make that?

If y'all had a kid, successful. If she a hoe, unsuccessful.
