Agreed, it's a terrible headline, but the story is accurate. California's getting a lot more snow in a lot more places than usual right now.

And actually already 167 mph wind gust recorded at Pallasaids in Tahoe. Forecast is for 12' of snow. Highways completely shut down. Etc.

That's up in the mountains. The most any resident will see is ~2 to 3ft. These figures are always over the top.

It looks like where the road passes through Truckee, CA, a bit east of the actual Donner pass in the mountains.
