Signed up for direct deposit to reduce paper waste, but now I get a letter stating that I'll be getting a direct deposit...
The literal paperwork involved with not getting paperwork is a little much these days!

Banks need to send a paper notice in case you got switched without knowledge or consent.
Otherwise you get old people who get unwillingly opted in by a dark design patterns and then have to call up and ask why they don’t get paper statements.
I cannot count the number of times I gotten a coercive UI trying to force me to drop paper statements.
Yep. It's, sadly, a necessary evil. At least it's a one-time paper waste rather than a recurring one. Still a net win.
Of all the resources to care about, paper is about as low a priority as I can imagine.
That's understandable, but this wasn't from the bank. It's basically a reminder for something I had already consented to in writing.
This grinds my gears so much. And it's always an “ask me later” option if you don't.
Again it’s to send a notice to the address on record. Just in case somebody else took the action without you knowing.
If they did it every month that would be an issue for me.
My last health insurance sent a letter once a year to remind me I was paperless.
I get non-stop promotions by mail from a company that I already have services with... but the promotions only apply to "new customers".
The money they could save by not sending me that garbage should be deducted from my bill as a discount.
I get a ton of mail promotions for Fiber Internet that isn't even in my area yet.
I let myself get excited every time only to be let down.
We heard you were paperless!

Looking for petty things to whine about?
Yeah, this is only mildly infuriating!
Sigh, I Guess. This sub is mildly infuriating.
Honestly there is enough rage bait everywhere else, so it's nice to have a place to commiserate over the truly petty annoyances in life.
If only paper was renewable like the electricity used to transmit electronic invoices
Paper is renewable. The fuel used to transport it is not. And let's not forget the energy that goes into manufacturing and printing on the paper.
It is possible to transport it renewablely, using eclectic vehicles.
Like Segways, carrier pigeons, rickshaws, catapults, and pykrete barges!
ETA: no offense meant. Just having some fun with a good typo.
