I've said it before and I'll say it again, Tucker Carlson is a traitor and a Russian asset.

“She said something that I considered to be a false accusation,” he said, later adding: “I just wanted to defend myself, my family and, frankly, the presidency.”

You sexually assaulted her in 1996 you dumb sack of shit. It was two full decades before you fell ass backwards into the Oval office. This has nothing to do with the presidency. It's about you and your crimes.

Edit: The defamation claim is absolutely about the sexual assault taking place. That’s what he was referring to when he said “something I consider to be a false accusation”. Anyone trying to tell you this trial has nothing to do with the sexual assault is an idiot.

States that participate in the federal program are required to cover half of the administrative costs, which would cost Nebraska an estimated $300,000. Advocates of the program note that the administrative cost is far outweighed by the $18 million benefit, which the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates would benefit 175,000 Nebraska children who might otherwise go hungry on some days during the summer.

Imagine being such a reprehensible monster that you'd let 175k children in your state starve rather than participate in a federal program that'd help feed them when school is out each summer. It's unconscionable.

When the reporter persisted, Decker explained that her father—a preacher born around 1933, according to the Courier Journal, or 68 years after slavery was outlawed—was “born into poverty” and worked for free with his family on the property they lived on. (It’s unclear whether the adults were paid, though the Courier Journal notes that it sounds more like “Decker’s father was forced by his parents to do chores” and that the family were tenant farmers.)

"The proposed simple click-to-cancel mechanism may not be so simple when such practices are involved. A consumer may easily misunderstand the consequences of canceling and it may be imperative that they learn about better options," NCTA CEO Michael Powell said at the hearing. For example, a customer "may face difficulty and unintended consequences if they want to cancel only one service in the package," as "canceling part of a discounted bundle may increase the price for remaining services."

This sounds like a "you" problem. If your service were any good this wouldn't be a concern because nobody would have a reason to reach that page. Take those discounted bundles and fuck right off.

Thank fuck Lemmy exists. Reddit has been a shell of its former self for a very long time but in the last two years or so it’s gotten awful. Things will only get worse once Reddit goes public.

Lemmy reminds me of what Reddit was when I joined in 2011. Much smaller user base that tends to be tech savvy. It’s an old school forum vibe I thought was gone forever.

The bill also gives people the ability to justify use of “defensive force” upon an unhoused person in instances of criminal trespass, including “unlawful camping” on the owner’s property. This would allow property owners to use deadly force against unhoused people on their property without facing criminal consequences.

Sounds like Kyle Rittenhouse is gonna get his mom to drive him to Kentucky. Seriously though, this is fucking disgusting legislation. Homeless people are dehumanized enough but Kentucky is on the verge of legalizing hunting them for sport. What vile pieces of shit those 45 Republican co-sponsors are.

That's a pretty fast turn around on walking it back. I guess the backlash was intense. Too little too late though, I'm done with Wendy's. I don't care how they spin it now, we all know this wasn't ever going to benefit customers or reduce strain on staff, it was just a scheme to price gouge during lunch/dinner rush. The fact that they even considered doing this is enough reason to never give them my business again.

Kirk Tanner's only been CEO for 3 weeks and immediately started in with this fuckery. It'll be interesting to see how many more Mooches he lasts.

“I get it. My affiliation with a people search business may look odd from the outside,” Shelest’s statement reads. “In truth, if I hadn’t taken that initial path with a deep dive into how people search sites work, Onerep wouldn’t have the best tech and team in the space. Still, I now appreciate that we did not make this more clear in the past and I’m aiming to do better in the future.”

Who better to fix the problem than me, it’s creator!” He’s not exactly wrong, it is possible to reform and become an industry leader combating the issue you were once guilty of doing yourself. There are countless examples of that throughout the history of the tech space. However, you absolutely cannot hide that kind of background if you are looking to operate in the privacy and cybersecurity sectors. Doing so is incredibly shady and not the behavior of someone who’s turned white hat.

Mozilla had no option but to walk away immediately and I’m glad they did. They can’t afford to have this stink on their reputation. It’s unfortunate that this information’s only come to light now though.

Much as it offends some who read us, we will continue to tell the truth about Trump.

To quote Ben Shapiro if I may... "Facts don't care about your feelings." Trump's a traitor who incited a violent insurrection and continuing to support him after what happened on 1/6 makes you one too.

Donald J. Trump offered a New York appeals court on Wednesday a bond of only $100 million to pause the more than $450 million judgment he faces in his civil fraud case, saying that he might need to sell some of his properties unless he gets relief.

It was a stunning acknowledgment that Mr. Trump, who is racing the clock to either secure a bond from a company or produce the full amount himself, lacks the resources to do so.

These sources are generally trustworthy for information but may require further investigation.

According to another article the guy is 43. Imagine proudly throwing away the majority of your forties for Donald fucking Trump. Like most people when I was young I always thought 40 was ancient but now that I'm approaching it myself I simply can't imagine anything being worth losing these years. My partner and I finally have the stability and the means to do many of the things we've always dreamed of. It would be such a waste.

Everyone's (rightly) focusing on 1/6 so I'll go a different route and mention what I think was Pence's biggest moment of public humiliation and utter servility as VP:

Remember back in 2017 when Trump made Mike Pence to go to that Colts v. 49ers game then throw a racist temper tantrum and storm out when players took a knee during the national anthem? Lmao

How'd selling your soul to be Trump's VP work out for ya there Pence-y boy? Really gave your political career a boost, eh?

Yeah, this is typical chicken-shit conservative cowardice. Back in the day they wore hoods and robes, these days they hide behind avatars on social media, but they’re still playing the same games.

It’s important to call them out on these dog whistles every time though, no matter how childish or ridiculous their name calling may seem. Because there will always be bad faith actors, pathological contrarians, and useful idiots waiting in the wings to defend them by denying the implicit or explicit racism at the heart of these incidents. So it’s the responsibility of every decent person not to give up a god damn inch of wiggle room on the subject.
