Absolutely agree. Even me posting about third parties here has brought more hate and mockery than I’ve ever experienced, even on Reddit! People can be toxic. lol
But all the backlash has only made me more determined to keep posting news about third parties!
I believe in people having options and diversity in political opinions. :)
But all the backlash has only made me more determined
Oh sure sure. That's the reason. 🙄
Thank God you're here to make sure everyone remembers they can chuck their vote into a hole if they don't care who wins.
Oh sure sure. That’s the reason. 🙄
I don't have to explain anything to you. Believe me or not. I don't care.
But I'll keep posting. Thank you!
Of course you will because you’re most likely 1) a disinformation agent who is being paid to post these ridiculously stupid opinions, or 2) someone who is a “useful idiot” and genuinely believe that voting 3rd party is a complete waste of a vote when these 3rd parties do nothing for 4 years and only show up on election year to try and steal votes from Democrats.

What percentage do the names of the literal entirety of current elected green officials you listed, as granularity as local elections, represent of the total elected positions? Hint: in 1992 that total was about 520,000 people.
Edit: lol didn't even realize you included former appointments.
My point was they don't only run pres elections.
Friend, I'm not voting for her. But the green party does more than just run for president. Now if you wanna argue percentages, ok, cool. But they do run for offices, as I've shown you.
With something like 50% appointment rate, largely due to uncontested elections. In other words, less than 250 run compared to 520k other party contenders. This is less than .05% green, yet they think they should be on 100% of presidential races.
So you think people should only vote for who they think will win? Not vote with their values then?
Not what I implied at all... Defensive much?
A party that is only interested in moonshots isn't a serious party.
A party that is only interested in moonshots isn’t a serious party.
I just gave you a list that shows that they run in other elections.
Less than .05% of "other elections." How obvious does this need to be for you?
The percentage a party receives in elections doesn’t automatically reflect its seriousness, especially when a political system is structured to suppress alternatives.
Ok, so what’s the "magic number" for a party to be taken seriously in your eyes, and how can they possibly reach it when the two major parties manipulate the rules, funding, and media access to keep third parties down?
Bruh, even in this very forum, Lemmy users often resort to guilt, pressure, and insults to force people into supporting the duopoly, calling those who back third parties "idiots" instead of fostering genuine political diversity. As I know from personal experience. lol
Ah the same bullshit-ass copypasta that proves you're wrong, again?
Didn't ask you to explain anything. I wouldn't believe your "explanation" if you gave one.
I wouldn’t believe your “explanation” if you gave one.
So then what's the point of accusations then? Because you've just admitted that you will believe what you wanna believe. So maybe you should let it go.
Some things are true, whether you believe them or not. And I'll keep posting any articles that I find interesting. Thank you! :)
I didn't make accusations did I? Look, you're welcome to block me of you don't want to see my comments on the articles you post.
Voting 3rd party in a US election = not getting a say in which of the actual candidates gets elected. I'll keep reminding folks about that unless you're trying to say certain viewpoints shouldn't be freely expressed...
You have a narrative you wanna push, all because I am not voting for you candidate.
I'm fine with you being against 3rd parties. You keep arguing against them, I'll keep arguing for them. Unless you're trying to say certain viewpoints shouldn't be freely expressed.
I'll keep posting. And you keep posting.
As long as the news reports on them, I'll post them. :)
Woah. I'm not anti 3rd party. Don't put words in my mouth.
It's just stupid to vote for any third party in this election. I think we should have ranked choice and a number of election reforms to allow for viable 3rd parties. But 2 months before a wanna be dictator is on the ballot isn't the time.
It’s just stupid to vote for any third party in this election.
Ohhh, so any other election. Just not THIS one. What about the last one, was it ok then? Or the one before?
What about the next election when Trump Jr decides do run, will it be ok to vote 3rd party then?
Other ones are ok, just not 2024 then, right? So you're gonna be totally ok with me posting third party articles after this election. Right?
I'll be sure to save this post so we can talk about that after this election. :)
You are being intentionally obtuse and it's transparent as fuck.
What do you mean?
I'll be sure to save this post so we can talk about that after this election. :)
🤣 I'm looking forward to blocking you after the election.
Oh so it's just this election that you think I have so much power that I can change people's minds then?
Even if those options do nothing but help elect trump.
Be honest. You're really just trying to get trump elected not 3rd party candidates cuz u know 3rd party candidates can't get to 270
Be honest. You’re really just trying to get trump elected by making everyone doubt everyone elses intentions. You are just trying to sow discontent and confusion.
That makes no sense
Makes exactly the same amount of sense as the thing I was accused of. What part confuses you?
No, it doesn't. Just repeating a statement, slightly modified, doesn't mean it makes sense.
I can't help you understand it. Good luck!
Because there's nothing to understand. Have the day you deserve!
Have the day you deserve!
Thank you! And I hope you have the life you deserve! :)
Yeah, the problem isn't the articles you post, those are fine. Trying to misdirect onto that is a strawman. People don't like you due to how you engage in comment sections with the people that want to talk about those articles.
Also someone posting this volume and this rate of similar posts is a bad smell.
Either they can’t work and have nothing better to do or this is what they get paid to do. I wonder…
Until our voting system is changed from First-to-the-Finish to Ranked Choice, it's impossible for a third party to be a legitimate option.
I would love to see a third party candidate be successful, but if these third parties can't even complete their paperwork on time and take opposition party funding, they are not legitimate.
