Because it was made up by South Park in the World of Warcraft episode. I think people love that they actually went and made it.
It's also an Animal Crossing competitor that looked pretty good from the one trailer I saw. So people into animal crossing/Stardew valley type games are excited.
In the first few minutes of gameplay they make a Snakes on a Plane reference, because of course.
I unironically want to play this, no apple device though =X
