How do you drive in Cyberpunk???

I feel like I'm driving in an ice level and the game keeps telling my car is gonna explode. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Haha. The driving in that game is horrendous.

I've tried turning down the steering sensitivity, but no dice. I've been running on foot, or trying to see if I can get Jackie/NPC to drive. If not, I'm just creeping along on the highway, probably getting laughed at by NPCs

I've had a lot less problems driving motorcycles. The steering issues for KB+M seem really bad with cars, but motorcycles are much easier to handle. As soon as I could obtain a motorcycle I just used that as my primary transportation for my first time playing, made the game a lot easier.

Looks like I'm saving up for a motorcycle.

There's one you can get from a sidequest that follows up on one of the major early plot points (won't say more due to spoilers). Takes a little time but it's worth it.

EDIT: There are apparently two others that come from quests as well, though I can't remember how far into the game they are.

You can get that side quest one by just going to the garage and entering the code I think.

It depends on the vehicle, and the surface.

Get a Rayfield for the best handling on a supercar, in my opinion. Or the Thornton brand, especially for off road.

Learning to drive with gentle corrections helps too.

After a few hundred hours playing the game, I'm excellent at the driving, weaving between traffic and loosing people on the bends. Great fun.

PS. Don't hold down the accelerator all the time, use your brakes. it's not NASCAR.

I pretty much just started, so it's just the starter vehicle for now. But it's good to know that it gets better with practice.

Makes the cost of upgrading the car worthwhile too, they're genuinely better!

Experiment with a range of them, they do vary so much

That's the neat part, you don't.

Jokes aside, the game is a lot more entertaining if you run to places with the charged jump, sandevistan, and mantis blades

I've really just been running around as much as I can. Glad to know that a viable path ๐Ÿ˜‚

Honestly, exploring the city on foot is pretty fun. I did a lot of my early game traveling on foot, just soaking everything in. You see a lot of neat details you would otherwise miss by driving.

As you explore more of the map, there are fast travel waypoints that make travel easy.

Some cars handle better than others, and eventually you get somewhat accustomed to it. Motorcycles have the best handling in the game though, and I prefer to use them over cars.

Enjoy the game. It's got it's flaws but imho it's great.

I mean I would go with gorilla arms but your point definitely stands.

I just happen to enjoy punching people into a red mist. Lol

I would play on PC with keyboard and mouse EXCEPT when driving. Then I would pick up my DS4 controller because the joysticks work better for variable input with steering.

Did the same thing with my Xbox controller.

In addition to the other advice, also turn your graphics down, it seems like the keyboard steering smoothing happens on a frame by frame basis and just doesn't work well generally, but the lower your framerate is, the worse it gets.

Or just use the metro/fast travel ๐Ÿ˜…

If you're on PC tap your directional keys to turn don't hold them down

This is the way, a minute to calibrate and your good!

I just Akria my way around town on a bike.

I have no problems just zooming around and through vehicles in Cyberpunk. It's fun and relaxing.

Controller, third person camera, mostly motorcycle only and driving handling mods.
