Read it yourself: All 673 books removed from Orange classrooms
All my parent's bookshelf when I was little is there, plus a lot of the fantasy novels I read later. I just can't help but wonder wtf is left for the kids to read? The Bible and the Very Hungry Caterpillar?
The House of the Spirits puzzled me at first. I read it in school myself and it really doesn't contain anything that students aged 12 and above with a halfway decent teacher should struggle with in any way.
Then I remembered that fundies are generally ridiculous and the surname Allende is a reminder that socialism could work if not for American interference the moment a South American country decides to democratically elect anyone to the left of Reagan.
Why isn't the bible in the list, it is full of sexual pervercy.
