What a sad state your country must be in to take weapons from fucking North Korea. That's like getting a busted slingshot from the kid who eats his own boogers.

Or maybe

Maybe

Maybe

It didn’t actually happen because NK doesn’t have the facilities to manufacture meaningful levels of weapons to one of the greatest military powers in the world right now

Could be western propaganda who knows

Russia

Greatest military power in the world

Lmfao Russia isn't even the greatest military power in Ukraine.

I dont blame Russia though, I'd also buy anything vaguely pointy from North Korea if local farmers towed away half my tanks with their tractors

Okay, you’re right. I absolutely misspoke about the “greatest military power” thing.

Yes sure and all the increased train traffic that the satellites are recording are just empty trains

A country that devotes most of its budget to the military is certainly unable to make ammunitions.

Go to watch the recording of their military parades to see how many weapons they're showing.

They're not just parading with a sad little tank from the 40s like that "greatest military power in the world"

All bullshit aside, I agree. I've heard North Korea is actually pretty damn industrious.

Evil, fucked up, and building upon the blood, sweat, tears, and bodies of their poor and working class... But industrious all the same.

I guess I'm saying fuck them, but maybe don't discount them.

Yeah, they've been industrious for decades. Not much choice when your natural resources are mostly mountains and minerals. Before the split, most industry was in the north and agriculture was in the south. In fact, the Kaesong industrial complex on the border was built to allow both countries to benefit from their resources (SK having money and NK having cheap labor).

all the increased train traffic that the satellites are recording are just empty trains

Well, that actually would be plausible. If they had the fuel.

of the greatest military powers in the world right now

Yeah, remember how they rolled over the Ukrainian military and took Kyiv in two weeks like Putin said they would?

Lol, wait... Russia is "one of the greatest superpowers in the world right now"?

Are you for real? Russia is a paper tiger. Yes, they do have nukes... But let's not blow air up their asshole.

But let’s not blow air up [Russia's] asshole.

That seems to be the favorite pastime of a concerning number of people on here, though.

Yeah no I misspoke on that point for sure.

Paper tiger economy or military?

They are making big gains right now unfortunately so it would be wise not to understimate them just like Poland aren't or France with the latter re arming at a rate not seen since WW2.

Why would they be doing this if not for the threat Russia poses.

The other overlooked factor here is they will have the most experienced and battle hardened military in the world at the end of this (well the soldiers that survive at least) But their generals and commanders are certainly getting real world experience that's very valuable.

Because everyone should trust what this lady says, right?

No. Because North Korean is fucking poor. Their military shit is from the 50's. I'd be very much surprised if they actually provided anything to Russia other than old Soviet era weapons.

Edit: Why the downvotes? I'm not defending anyone here??

A simple explosive shell from the 50s and one made today are not that different. It gets launched and goes boom, doesn't take a genius to manufacture

You'd be surprised how much metallurgy advanced. Western shells from 50s and from 90s are completely different beasts, but difference is less in NK ammo, which means lower range and lethality out of comparable calibre. This way NK 180mm shell is less lethal and maybe shorter ranged than western 155mm, it's closer to modern 105mm

You are spreading Kremlin talking points. Spreading influence for a regime illegally trying to annex it's neighbor, razing cities, murdering civilians and kidnapping children.

You understand that is not Okay, right?

Wasn't shrapnel found with NK markings? Yeah sure that could be planted if we reach far. Meh everything is conspicuous propaganda in these post-truth times

Russian's current military doctrine involves overwhelming its opponent with larger amount of fire over precision. This means that they give preference to dumb munitions (this is, projectiles which trajectory you cannot change once they've been fired) over precise munitions, and North Korea is pretty much capable of providing a bunch of the former. Given North Korea's current economy and the fact that not many countries would be interested in that kind of armament, it would make perfect sense for Russia and North Korea to make that trade. Nothing of this are judgements of value over any country, just facts and analysis.

NK manufactures and stores empty artillery shells and fills them as needed, because scaling up manufacture of filling plant is easy but scaling up steelworks is hard. This way shell forged in 70s but filled in 2023 is still pretty useful
