Reminder that you only have until the end of the month if you want to use PowerSuiteDelete to edit all your Reddit comments to say something like the title. After that, there may no longer be a free API available.

Hit them where it hurts! Right on the data the value so much. Our data

Sincerely thought it’d be harder to quit Reddit.

Welcome buddy! Hopefully many more will do the same.

Here I am using Lemmy from Kbin and not yet knowing what I’m doing. Also I can’t figure out how to reply to the main post. But I can reply to a comment. Good fun though!

Good to see I'm not the only one haha. Yesterday commented on a post and it ended up at a completely different post. Fun times :)

I think I read that there is a bug with one of the apps for Lemmy (starts with a J, IIRC) that's causing that.

Turns out I just had to scroll down quite a lot more. That’s one issue solved!

Too late. I've already used shreddit to overwrite and then remove all of my posts and comments.

I used PowerSuiteDelete earlier today and my content re-appeared this afternoon. It's like playing whack-a-mole.

Just deleted 13 years worth of comments and posts. Not gonna lie it was slightly painful but it had to be done. I used Redact to overwrite and delete them with a message.

A little bit of learning curve but getting the hang of it.

So I get major paralysis before posting anything to reddit because I just know someone somewhere is going to find some way to take what I said in the wrong way. I hope to follow this advice before end of month, but my biggest hurdle is not being sure what to replace all my messages with. I'm also not sure I understand anything about lemmy well enough to explain to ppl.

I gotta say it's awesome seeing crossposts between Lemmy and Kbin. Once they get all the federation issues worked out I can really see it being really seamless.

I'm of the opinion that purging Reddit of all good content out of spite is just sinking to their level. Think about how helpful all the information on Reddit. Someone else could find it really helpful. If the argument is that the changes Reddit are making are destructive to the site, then it's hypocritical to turn around and destroy the content on the site.

Paint Hufferman doesn't realize that you can't have content without the content providers. Maybe this will remind him.
