Why are random characters missing in my Debian virtualbox

This is an artistic way to share your screen 💅

Pretty standard with Mexican manufacturing plants

The other letters are DLC, or you can grind them out in this season's font battlepass.

Had the same issue with openSUSE in virtualbox. turning 3d acceleration off fixed it for me if it helps. Still wondering tho why it did.

I'll try this in a bit, I think it might work as I didn't have 3d acceleration on originally, and everything was working

Printscreen exists for a reason

They couldn't read your comment, unfortunately. All they saw on their screen was:

P_______e_n i_ ___ _ _s

Edit: damnit lemmy removes extra spaces

I've seen this somewhere, I believe you installed some updates. Reboot the machine and it'll come back, iirc

Its almost certainly a VirtualBox issue. I would suggest changing the graphics controller to one of the other options. I have my Linux VMs set to VMSVGA as that has had the fewest bugs.

If it makes you feel any better, VirtualBox 7 has had quite a few regressions specifically with the graphics stack and has caused problems with all of my VMs. My Windows 11 VM only rendered a black screen until 7.0.10 and all my other VMs are still using old versions of Guest Additions because of the instability with the newer versions.

Reboot it. This has happened a couple of times in Plasma updates over the years, seems to fix itself with a reboot.

Had the same issue with Plasma Wayland in QEMU but I never found a solution. Toggling anti-aliasing sometimes helped, temporarily

Sorry I have no idea how to help you.
Just a well meaning thanks for an amusing picture :D

You have to hand wash them otherwise this happens. They use a super inferior glue to stick the letters on. Careful hand washing can keep it clean, but eventually the letters will just slide off.

You have to hand wash them otherwise this happens.

But never forget to turn it inside out first.

Are you by chance using a language that uses non-latin glyphs extensively?

If so it could be a font issue
