Yeah I get that the purpose of that Illinois election law was anti-Communist political posturing, but even if we can't bar him for being affiliated with a group intent on overthrowing the government, it should lend credence to him being an insurrectionist in the other cases currently in the courts or for new challenges in states, as applicable.

he's broken every oath he's ever taken, no reason to waste the effort

He is America's Mussolini. He just was too dumb to even get as far as Mussolini did

More like Hitler I think. Mussolini offered to crush ongoing communist and anarchist revolts to secure order for the ruling elite and they were happy to give him the power. Hitler got into office democratically by leveraging an economic crisis and then used loopholes and violence to secure a role as dictator.

Oh shit I thought this sub was c/theonion making an article on what crazy thing Trump would do. Damn

Because he's already tried and failed to overthrow the government

Even if he did, I feel like his stance on oathkeeping is simillar to Russia...

I'm conflicted cause this oath is a remnant of McCarthyism

I'm conflicted because trump is a remnant of the turd reich

He's a goddamn communist
