I'm not bi, but this made me curious.

lol that's why ppl say 'love is love'

its not just a tagline, love is human and it's nice to see regardless of gender

"...nice to see..." Speak for yourself. Keep that stuff private, regardless of orientation.

Um, no. Do you not understand the point of pride? It means we will be ourselves despite irrelevant opinions from people like you.

You don't have any control over what gets posted to the internet just cause you don't like gay people.

Can you not read? I don't have a problem with gay people, just public displays of affection.

Yeah I did read your post and actually figured you might say that. But that's not the real reason you're saying this, because this isn't PDA, this is just a gay post online and you're using the PDA argument as an excuse to spread negativity. It's transparent and sad.

Thanks for telling me again how you know my opinion better than I.

Your words speak for themselves, whatever's going on in your head is known only to you. I'm calling you out for being needlessly negative and seeming dishonest about your intentions.

If you don't want people to think you're homophobic, don't say thinly-veiled homophobic things. Because as you know, nobody can read your mind and intentions, only your words. And your words are identical to talking points which homophobes have used for years. So it's not my fault if there's been a 'misunderstanding'.

Not only is your opinion stupid, no one here ever wants to hear it again on this topic.

@The_Hideous_Orgalorg my person, what you believe does not matter. You are giving the impression of someone who hates gay people, using arguments that have been popular in anti gay politics for a long time. Nobody here has to put up with that. There are lots of ways to talk about being put off by something that doesn't remind gay people of someone who wants to kill them

It must be tiring to be infuriated by every single instance of anyone kissing everywhere. I truly feel for you, but not in that way. This is public the same way TV is public. I can't imagine the rants you have to send to the studios.

Yeah... Those damn gays, and then they kiss deeply a few more minutes before settling down in a shady grove beneath an oak tree.. they let the dog wander off as they reacquaint themselves with each other's body...

I don’t get the joke, but I appreciate the effort making a post on Lemmy instead of Reddit.

I would prefer this group not become political focused, ruins so many subs. Anything LGBT+ is fine, not what I’m referring to. But the right and left and antifa stuff I could strongly do without

It always was political, avoiding politics is a position of privilege

I would recommend blocking either this entire community or just me. I have no intention of censoring myself for you.

If this makes you upset I would reevaluate your position.

"Apolitical" is a political position.

If you claim to support trans rights, and with them the broader struggle for gender self determination, then you ought to support the people putting their bodies on the line to defend it. Specifically the antifacists and anarchists (many of them queer themselves) who fight facism on the streets. Supporting a group targetted for genocide requires supporting the kinds of tactics that can fight the facists working to exterminate that group.

196 here is a clone of the former r/196, which was a strange mix of liberal and leftist

this post isn't even political

Lemmy's algorithm isn't taylored in any way. This is just a super active community with a lot of posts that get a lot of upvotes. If you're browsing all without a block list, yeah, you're gonna see it a lot. If you don't want to see it you can just browse your subscribed feed, or local, or block it, and never think about it again

This sub is 50/50 unfunny political memes or funny shitposts, no in-between. I haven't subscribed to it but Lemmy thinks I want to see it so here I am.

Then block it and stop complaining
