We took a close look at Elon Musk's more than 150 million followers on X aka Twitter. What we found is…concerning.

44 billion for 150 million followers... thats almost 300 dollars per follower. And most of those are fake!

Imagine having all the resources in the world and then spending all your time on something only 12 year olds think is impressive.

He’s got the mental maturity of a 12 year old, so it makes sense.

I swear to god, you can't scroll all in lemmy these days.. Every other post is about Twitter or elon musk.. I don't understand why people stay there, talk about it and giving this man child the attention

Yeah! Why would people be interested in talking about some of the biggest names in tech making idiotic decisions motivated by greed, hubris, and vanity? That's totally boring! We should all be talking about switching to Linux, beans, and flashlights!!!

probably a lot easier to make a ton of fake accounts when you own the website

It’s a play on how Elon often replies to things with just “concerning.”

At least these accounts are inactive, instead of actively asking for feet pics.

Ugh. I think Quinton Tarantino alone made at least half of these accounts.

There are very few things I could give less of a fuck about then a follow count

First it was Reddit now it’s X obsession. Who cares?

Judging by the upvote to downvote ratio, I’d say a lot more people care than don’t.
