Smart ID make me feel stupid

Its randomized so someone cant copy your finger movement and figure out your pin. Crazy to see decent security on this

The only other place I've seen it used funnily enough is RuneScape.

I came to the comments to make this joke lmao. I never played super consistently, so it always threw me for a bit of a loop.

Currently using GrapheneOS (custom Android OS), and you can enable this kind of scrambling too!

probably not worth it though unless you also have biometrics set up. (because you can't rely on muscle memory to unlock the phone)

Also on the trezor (hardware crypto wallet)

Haha. I understand the security reasoning, but it always breaks my brain. I just set up fingerprint instead so I don't have to suffer anymore.

Wait people that think a scrambled number pad is appropriate allow you to use your fingerprint?
A hacker demonstrated at a CCC congress how he got the fingerprint of the German defense minister with a digital camera.

Fingerprints are pretty much public information lol

I have to use a "scrambler pad" like this at work for entering credit card numbers. Very frustrating to use

They wanted to apply this to atms, but they realized most of the people are remembering the path more than the numbers themselves. At end it was abandoned.

La Banque Postale has an even crazier version. Itโ€™s a 5x5 grid with randomized positions and some buttons are actually empty since there are only 10 digits and 25 buttons. So itโ€™s even harder to know where each number is.

As a spawn of Satan, I would like to propose this...

Scrambler for the Pattern Lock... It rotates, sometimes it's upsidedown, reverse, angled at the left, angled at the right... ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

If they werenโ€™t that ridiculous about security, a rowdy teen might score some brew. Or worse, an unauthorized person might trick an innocent business into making them pay payroll taxes. Imagine what a dystopian world it would be if fake IDs existed.

I'm likely dyslexic. I find it very hard to read numbers especially (I just scramble numbers up in my head), so typing anything on that where numbers aren't in their normal place would be really hard for me.
