Ignorance is a lot more comfortable in the face of seeing all the problems for what they are, and being so near powerless to do anything about them, you may as well be.

I blame stress/responsibility/burnout. Kids/teens generally have more time to enjoy learning.
The first one gets exploited, the second one can become president. Welcome to the age of information, everyone.
