Ok. Not going to vote for any of those fools anyway. Joe Biden 2024.

Really wish we had a better option but it’s anyone not fascist until this wave of budget fascism dies out

Over time I see less and less of the need to be like "lol I don't like who I'm voting for, but I feel like I have to." I see absolutely no regret in 1) voting against obviously they worst thing ever and 2) voting for someone who seems to a least try to do things that aren't horrible and are generally pretty good? They only time you're going to agree with everything a candidate says or does you'd be on the ballot yourself. Even then it's probably healthy to disagree with yourself a bit.

I just hate that I'm forced to support Israel because the only other option is a literal dictator

Who also supports Israel. It’s not the president, it’s the MIC and every single moneyed interest powering the US.

3rd party 2024

End the MIC

A vote for third party is a vote for Trump.

You may not like it, but that's what we have to deal with.

Sounds like your problem? You liberals should have nominated someone who doesn't commit genocide. I live in Texas and my vote is ceremonial anyway. I'm voting third party and if that results in Trump, that's your fucking problem to deal with, liberal. I don't see Trump or Biden as meaningfully different and if anyone wants my vote, they have to appeal to me and my political interests.

Biden still owes me another stimulus check. Fuck him. I don't owe Democrats anything.

I don’t see Trump or Biden as meaningfully different

Holy shit, hilarious. Thanks for demonstrating the typical intelligence of a "muh both sides!"-er.

Cool. Enjoy my third party vote that results in Trump I guess. Do you think I'll vote for Biden if you call me an idiot enough times?

Do you think I’ll vote for Biden if you call me an idiot enough times?

Holy shit, hilarious. Someone who is a complete asshole to someone else for no reason is now all of a sudden indignant that someone wasn't nice to them. Thanks, again, for a further demonstration!

I'm an asshole to Biden and Democrats because they're complicit in genocide, that's where I'm directing my anger. If I was rude to someone here, I didn't realize nor do I think I said anything rude to anyone.

I didn’t realize nor do I think I said anything rude to anyone.

Ah, so lacking logical and interpersonal intelligence. Quite the combo!

Ok, well fuck you nerd. Glad we reached this point. It's easier.

It's easier for you to just call names (like "nerd" lol who even says this as an insult anymore?). This comes as no surprise.

Your statement "that's your fucking problem to deal with, liberal" tells me you wouldn't vote for Biden even if he gave you another stimulus check. You sound like a staunch Republican to me, you just drew the line at Trump. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if you voted Trump once you're in the ballot box.

Do your thing dude.

I'm a communist. Left wing. I was prepared to vote for Sanders in a general election in 2016 and 2020 but the Democrats decided against me being allowed to do that.

I wouldn't ever vote for Biden at this point because he's complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. If the Democrats instead nominate someone with a platform similar to the 2020 Sanders platform, then I'd vote for them. It's as easy as that.

not voting for someone because of your "flavour of the month" issue that has no impact to you seems to be the stupidest thing someone could do, given the stakes involved.

but you do you

You'd always find a way to accuse him of genocide or some equally inflated horror, it's such a predictable tactic.

Yes, it's predictable to accuse the president of genocide if they're complicit in the genocide of Palestinians. I live in the current reality and that's what is happening.

This is objectively incorrect

Not here on planet Earth, tinfoil hat.

If you can write out the math where I, voting 3rd party, add a vote to Trump's tally, and I will personally give you one billion dollars.

Lol. Trump is a fascist and has about a 35% ceiling for fascist voters in the US. Any vote you take away from his ONLY competition (in this case Biden) moves him one vote closer to victory. Keep your (nonexistent) money imbecile.

If you can write out the math where I, voting 3rd party, add a vote to Trump’s tally, and I will personally give you one billion dollars.

Bro you just won the internet with pedantic technical arguments that pretend to not understand what the person you're arguing with is telling you.

I'm Autistic. I literally don't understand what they mean. Write out the math for me.

Trump - 50 000 votes

Biden - 50 001 votes with you

or

Trump - 50 000 votes

Biden - 50 000 votes

3rd - 1 vote (you)

No one owes votes to Biden by default. This math doesn't add to Trump's rally. You're saying @Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com is automatically a Biden voter, but changing their mind would take votes away from Biden. At no point is Trump gaining anything from this.

No one votes for candidates by default. No one owes politicians votes.

It doesn't matter whether you want to vote for him or not. Voting third just means you vote for the worst of the two main options.

I don't live in the US, we have multi-party system, but it's still first pass the post, so if I don't vote for someone normal, my vote goes to void, and some fascists can get one step closer to the post.

If you want to dismantle the two party system, voting for anyone won't do it.

Unless you like dictatorships and want to abolish voting. In which case, just vote Trump and be honest with yourself.

I am both voting for and not voting for Biden somehow and it's pissing me off the general population is this stupid.

Feds, I've committed voter fraud apparently. You know what to do.

The thinking is that 3rd party votes will lessen the amount of votes Biden gets, thus allowing Trump to win.

You aren't actually adding a vote to Trump's tally, you are subtracting one from Biden.

Most of the Independents I know skew towards the Republican side anyway, so I'm just a little inclined to think a 3rd party vote will actually subtract from Trump's tally, but I'm just a little old blue lady down in Louisiana, so what do I know?

Nobody in my very conservative family is happy w/ Trump OR Biden.

If they decided to go 3rd party, are they also voting for Biden? For Trump? They've committed voter fraud? Wait what?

I can't even imagine how that is your take-away from my comment. If your very conservative family vote 3rd party, they are voting 3rd party. Not for Biden or Trump.

My comment is attempting to point out that 3rd party votes are going to have a consequence.
