I personelly sort top day All which hits the sweet spot of getting still active posts with aldready some activities and it is neither too old or too new. I think it also covers the categories such as hot and active.
all/topsixhours
Scaled Subscribed
I never understood how scaled work
https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/03-votes-and-ranking.html
So Active looks at the most recent comment, How looks at the post date, and scaled looks at posts but also boosts the less active communities so they don't get buried
Ahh got it i am going to sort scale now to support those communities
New FTW
top 12 hour, then if i feel ive gotten deep, by nee
All - New Comments
I switch it around every once in a while when I've seen too many similar posts.
Same. Unlike Reddit there’s not too much content to stay on top of it. It’s nice.
Subscribed • Hot
'Scaled' sounds interesting, though I don't currently see it on lemmy.world web interface.
New local. Once that is exhausted new all.
I sort by new, subscribed by default, for my mindless scrolling when I open randomly throughout the day. Then in the evenings I saw switch to top day, all for finding interesting convos and new communities.
Subscribed|New pretty much all the time.
Subscribed Scaled
I'm subscribed to a LOT of different communities so I usually don't run out of content
I have run out of posts from Top day all several times you just need to be a lemmy junkie
I'll do my All New duty every so often to upvote potentially interesting stuff. There's a lot of crap to wade through, so I hope it helps.
Subscribed - New comments
Once that is done I go to All - Top of the day or 12 hours
Lemmy has gotten much slower, so I can get through all the new posts in the morning in 30m or so.
All, new messages, hot, they kinda all meld together when there isn't that much activity.
@THE_MASTERMIND I start with Moderated New. Then Settings Reports.
Then I typically sort Subscribed Hot, Subscribed New, then All Hot.
If I'm trying to find more things to sub to I will look at All New.
Active
I'm a mod so it's hard to not sort by new.
It depends on how long I expect to browse and how long since last time. If I've got a lot of time, I'll just do New. I've blocked a lot of communities that I have zero interest in, which includes some of the most prolific, so New isn't as terrible for me. Probably takes some 90 minutes of I haven't checked for 12 hours.
If I just want to catch the big stuff and don't have a lot of time, I'll usually do Top for however many hours since I last looked. Occasionally I'll do active to see what people are talking about.
Constantly alternating.
Another Subscribed + New here
Top 6 hours for a while since I joined, but activity increased a lot over the past few months that Hot is pretty good now.
Top day also, usually, except Active in channels where I don't look that often.
Scaled for subscribed and local. Top day for all.
Penis
Can someone who aldready clicked it tell me what it is ?
It's fine ☺️
Application that arranges your Windows desktop icons by penis.
Subscribed new and all scaled
On kbin, mostly all/hot/∞ (the default), otherwise new or subscribed (also /hot/∞ by default).
