Hilarious. The original game already looked great, but hey, you can upgrade for only $10!

Why do we need a remaster of that game so soon?
Because Sony likes money and doesn't give AF about gamers
Why?
PS5 has been the generation of PS4 remasters/remakes. PS5 might as well be the PS4 Pro Pro and the PS5 Pro the PS4 Pro Pro Pro.
It's not even that old.....
It should just be a port - but that doesn't sell copies.
wasn't this game already ported to PS5?
Not ported but a 60fps patch for PS5 was released. The PS4 version was already backwards compatible on PS5.
Ugh that makes it even worse

Emphasis is mine.
This is just a glorified update, not a remaster. For the most part, it's a cashgrab and I would be hard pressed to justify the full price point they are asking for this thing. At least they are offering the update at a discount for existing customers.
But it's hilarious that the existing customers who bought the game physically and then bought their new flagship console apparently are not entitled to the discount. I don't understand if Sony just doesn't care about the PS5 Pro and its users, or they think that people will buy the console + external disc tray for this?
Oh, and now the game requires a PSN account on PC as well, and they only mentioned Steam and Epic Store despite the game being also released on GoG.
I hope it does not if you don't upgrade otherwise these mf ruined one of my favorite series. Fuck these mf anyway
I gladly would have paid 10 €bucks for the upgrade as I really enjoyed the game, but Sony can get fucked, it's a singleplayer game.
Idk how it looks like on PS but I finished it last year on PC and it was looking great already.
It looked great on the PS4.
And was patched for 60fps on the PS5. Just like The Last of Us 2.
Greed is a hell of a drug. Enshittification of the game industry means you buy the final edition after a few years at a sale and ignore any remasters/rereleases/remakes/reskins since they're all obvious cash grabs and add less and less to the game.
The latest step to curb this is always online DRM for single player games. Easy off switch for old versions when you want the cash cows to buy the new one at full price.
Why bother re-releasing dead games stuck on PS3 when you can do this?
But why? Why would someone buy this?
Because people are fucking stupid. It’s the same reason Disney is just mass producing marvel and Star Wars trash. And the rest of the film industry is afraid to gamble on original content now.
The bottom of the cash-printing barrel has been found in entertainment consumerism. And I’ve a feeling it’ll never go back to what it once was was.
Geez. Awful use of resources remastering games that already look great.
Bloodborne remaster next???
Puts on mask pretending to be Sony
"Bloodwha? Whatborne? Never heard this word before in my life. Doesn't look anything to me"
Why are people so insanely obsessed with Bloodborne remaster?
It's an excellent game, was a lot of peoples first From Software game, and unlike the majority of big titles from that time period, hasn't been ported, updated or remastered.
Additionally, out of all the "Souls" games, Bloodborne is still the only one that can't be played at over 30fps.
I think it was my first FS game too, and I played a decent amount of hours on it on the PS4, but I just thought there were newer an better FS games since then that would fill that desire. It didn't seem to me that Bloodborne was that special. And it's not like FS had just been sitting still doing nothing since then.
I think bloodborne holds a lot of reverence because of the themes it portrays. Besides Sekiro, which also has a cult following, all the other Souls games are based in and around medieval fantasy of some sort.
Bloodborne starts in Victorian England with a Van Helsing story and the descends into Lovecraft really fast. For a lot of people, myself included, that's inherently a more interesting setting than medieval fantasy. People who are into victorian England are really passionate about it, and people who are into Lovecraft are really into Lovecraft.
The blood starved beast IS a pretty hard filter for people who don’t think the game is special. I don’t blame you.
If they remaster it there's a chance they'll release it on PC and then I won't have to buy an entire PlayStation just for one game.
Quick non spoiler: Faster paced than souls and the theme style as perfectly executed. Horror elements blended really well as the game progesses over places you've been before. A key nonspoiler difference is the addittude toward boss fights. Souls end with victory achieved and Bloodbourne ends with prey slaughtered with major bossed getting and a spoiler text.
Because its a very good game and its currently only available on one platform?
Wishing for a remaster isn’t what I would call INSANELY OBSESSED. Chillax bro
Do I think it’s unnecessary for this to get a remaster? Yes. However I’m still looking forward to it. It looks good; the fixed mocap and haptic controls alone will make it worth the £10 upgrade for me.
Oh and they fixed the weird looking kid Aloy. I’d have paid £15 for that, so £10 is a deal.
What wss wrong with the mocap?
The re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release generation.
Yeah… rather than create new shit…. Just keep doing this. Money prints itself when people are so easily pacified.
I bought the Last of Us 2 upgrade, so I can't really criticise anyone buying this, but I've played this game to it's absolute death - had every conversation, completed every mission, even played through on the hardest difficulty to get all the trophies - so I can't imagine ever playing it again. It's Guerrilla Games' own fault - if they hadn't made it so good, they could have had an extra tenner from me.
If they fix some of the wonky character animations during cut scenes, it might be worth it for that alone.
When I played on PC the game looked good, but there were definitely places that could be improved. I recall facial animations looking a bit off. Not that I think a remaster is called for.
What sucks is that no one is gonna buy this and Sony is gonna see it and think "I guess no one wants Horizon games anymore." When the fact of the matter is that no one wants a Horizon game that's identical to the one that's already available, and runs/looks great.
