Holy shit. How did you get to know about Lemmy and why did you join?
Not OP but reddit and the piracy subreddit
At the time I knew what the fediverse was and I was using Mastodon quite consistently, and I was waiting for a federated alternative to reddit. Raddle at the time was already a thing, but federation was not on their roadmap.
As per how I found it... here's a comment from four years ago :)
huh I'm close
The hero we need, but not the one we deserve
Are you one of the Elders of the Internet?
just lemmy eheh unfortunately I haven't had the chance to witness the birth of the internet
Because spez enjoys having sex with a lasagna loving cat?

I created my account last year but only started using it properly during the APIcalypse
More than 3 years now
June 22nd, 2023.
I was simultaneously desperately hoping RIF for Reddit wouldn't die...
Now however, I'm still sad about RIF, but very happy about being here on Lemmy!
Counting from my first account almost 4 years, a bit over 3 year on this one
16 June 2023 - my account appears newer than that because I switched instance.
June 16th, 2023
Longer than I thought. When I tried to register I was annoyed that the username was taken, but it turned out they also dropped the info in my password manager back in 2021!
July 26th 2020, a day that will live on in infamy as the first day of Hexbear.

My very first account was in Feb of 2022, but i kinda abandoned it until the 3rd party apps blackout on June 12. Then i came back and really started to kick the tires.
See my cake day.
since the beginning of time! Like 2 months ago, it was a Tuesday I think.
Since January 2021. I left Lemmy for about a year, then came back during the Reddit blackout.
3 days now. I miss the abuse of reddit. Jk
Since the day before the Reddit strike… so mid June?
December of 2022. I was moving away from closed-source social media, and after Twitter -> Mastodon, Reddit was next. I didn't become active til the whole API thing tho, because Lemmy didn't have some communities that I liked. So I made one lol
2-3 months I think? I could check, but that's just too much effort.
Like it a lot so far though!
Just a few months ago.
3 months.

I signed up to see what it was about during the Redditmageddon. I'm still on both sites and always will be though.
Two years, apparently. I posted like two comments and came back after the Reddit API crisis to never look back.
27th August 2023
I knew about Lemmy for nearly 2 years prior to The Blackout and slowly gained some traction after the birth of the instance I created my account in (which started as a subreddit but for reasons around one year ago their exodus began)
an hour.
hi
(to be fair i did check things out here every once in a while since the api debacle but i didn't sign up until now)
4 years, everything was great until the redditors brought their bullshit.
Since June 2023, like 90% of the users on here.
click on my name :)

Just since The Incident at the Other Place.
Before the dark times. Before the Empire.
Since June 13, 2023.
2023 / 13 * 6 produces a cool repeating pattern of 692307:
