How about we just settle this over a game of battlebots and no one else needs to get hurt.

Bro. Seriously. Guys. Listen.

Battle bots but with military budgets.

Fuck, yeah - that's certainly worth a try.

Televising shit from Adviika (?) really isn't working, currently

Imagine BEING a military robot with super speed and senses and stuff!!

Well yeah, may as well. The people who start wars are never risking their lives. Maybe it should be a game of battlebots between the leaders and the leader who loses dies?

That works from the aggressor, but the defender would often risk their lives to defend their home. Especially if the aggressor is likely to push a huge cultural value shift.

Good

Let's just make all wars robots fighting robots, and nobody has to get killed.

Never work because when your robots lose and you face another nation taking everything you own you will fight back anyway.

Otherwise we could solve international disputes with sports

Poor robots. Let's make wars virtual instead and no robots get harmed.

Poor software. Let's make wars imaginary and no programs get harmed.

That was in the Age of Chivalry when everything was honoured on the battlefield.

Can we make it so that only robots fight robots? Straight up battle bots, Supreme Commander style action instead so that people aren't dying.

Yeah you know this is going to be a shitshow. Take AI off the battlefield.

Ugh I hate all these subscription paywalls nowadays. Internet is so far from the initial ideals

It’s pennies but if I had to track every subscription and there would be hundred... It should be covered at ISP somehow as optional news network^tm^

Check your ISP might actually provide such packages. You might even already be benefiting from it but never used it.

I'd prefer if WebMonetization would be more broadly adopted so that all participants in the chain get their share, even if pennies indeed it still would be right and does add up.

Essentially robots will become the front line and will front the attrition war. Once enemy robots tear through friendly robots they'll go after any other friendly units, including human ones.

Robots can't tell soldiers from civilians, so they'll act as area denial. You have five minutes to move a hundred meters back to a safe space after which robots will kill anything on this side of the red line. Lather, rinse, repeat until there's no safe space left.

Video of this would embarrass the international community, so for now we'll have to garrison civilian centers with human beings, which is still messy. When we have robots that can garrison, then all-robot armies will become viable.
