Jared Polis had the best response to VP speculation: “If they do the polling and it turns out they need a 49-year-old, balding, gay Jew from Boulder, Colorado— they’ve got my number.”

He's also a big nerd gamer, don't forget that

Michigander here. You can't have her right now anyway.

Michigander here as well. We love her but let's be honest she would've been worth giving up for VP.

No, she needs to be at the top of the ticket. I don't want her squandered on VP.

VP gives you the experience and the name recognition. Both of those things are extremely difficult to get otherwise. 3 weeks ago, I had no idea who she was. Since then I've seen her on Colbert and a couple other things (she seems extremely smart and has good charisma), but the point is most folks won't know her.

Statistically, I don't think she would have a very good chance after being VP. Typically, the parties change after a two term presidency. In my lifetime, I've only seen Bush Sr and Biden win after being VP and both were one term presidents.

That's true. Still hard to get behind someone I've never heard of though, you know? I feel that's how the GOP mentality is. Here's the next thing to be angry/afraid of/crazy about...go!

Only if her being the VP would be the difference maker. VP can't do much, but look what she's been able to do as governor. She can make more change in her current position than any VP could do.

Fuck it. The next three president's should be Harris, Whitmer, and then AOC. Let's go!

That would make the chuds' heads explode.

...messy, but worth giving it a go.

Love to see window closing on the "flash primary" nonsense. Harris/whomever2024LFG!!!

Oh, for those who missed it, Harris got Pelosi's endorsement too.

she'll be a great president soon though <3

i'm still holding out hope for harris/kelly though i'd love i president harris put katie hill in her admin since it was disgusting how republicans weaponised revenge porn and an abusive husband against her. especially in an election about women's rights.

Whitmer was my pick for prez, so having her endorse Kamala, as scripted as it likely is, is still a ringing recommendation in my book. Kamala 2024.

One good point I've not seen so far pointing towards Mayor Pete as a VP is that as the head of the DOT, picking him wouldn't be taking a Dem from any states, and he might sure up the midwest vote. They've also ostensibly at least worked together a bit, both being in the cabinet and all.

He wasn't my favorite for sure in 2020, but she could certainly pick worse.

I'm very happy Biden dropped out of the election. It was too cruel to demand people to vote for that man. Congrats to all the people who stood against the media hyping Trump as a force that only Biden could beat (and all the trolls on Lemmy saying the same thing).

Looking forward to future debates to see if Harris is ready to take the Democrats in a better direction.
