In my playthrough (which I'm still working through so no act 3 spoilers please), I couldn't figure out how to open the pod she was in at first. I ended up shooting something overhead which fell and put caustic brine everywhere. When I finally opened the pod she jumped out and immediately died to the brine. I've never actually heard her speak 😅

On one hand, maybe having the child maltreatment victim crack jokes all the time would be a little inappropriate. On the other hand, that describes like 4 people I know.

On the other other hand, one Astarion is enough

It really surprised me that Astarion is so popular.

High/prominent cheekbone, pale, aristocratic, twink, tends to go over well

Same, though I have to say when I let him have a little blood and he went too far, I forced him out of my party on my first play through. But oh boy is he necessary on a Dark Urge play through. The dialogue is just so worth it.

Astarion has a ton of charisma.

has backshot potential

-actual Discord messages from my heterosexual male cousin that made me feel like my brain was melting out of my ears.

You think happy people are funnier than me?

Seriously though, having every character in a DnD party trying to crack wise all the time, even when it's objectively wrong, is just true to life.

I still don't like Shadow heart. 🤣

I thinks she was cool. I liked almost all companions, especially Lae'zel, Gale, Shadowheart and Astarion. I disliked Karlach, and Wyll was meh but not terrible. I didn't get to play Minthara though because I didn't know she was a companion and killed her in Act 1... 🥲

Huh. Karlach was easily my favorite.

I always liked hanging out with the punks and metalheads though.

I've known entirely too many people that had the real life personality of Shadowheart and Astarion to really like them though. Gael and Wyll just seemed like entitled shits; not the worst, but not great people.

My girlfriend and I reloaded like 3 times to save the npc that progressed the quest to save karlach.

I'll be honest, I don't even remember who Minthara is, so I definitely didn't get her either.

The Dark Elf evil paladin leading the charge to destroy the druid camp. Most people dont get her as a companion

Oooooh got it! That's cool actually I had no idea. I imagine she's pretty mutually exclusive with some of the others.

I didn't get to play Minthara though because I didn't know she was a companion and killed her in Act 1...

Oh my gosh, you too? I swear there are so many of us 😭

I'm doing a co-op play through with friends, and one of us accidentally started combat with her and killed her. We didn't even realise we were missing someone until Act III where there's a visible empty spot where she clearly should be and we googled the roster of companions.

So now Shadowheart is easily the most agreeable companion in the game since she approves of everything good or bad you do as long as it does not involve Shar or Lae'zel.

I killed her on the spot (goblin camp) after she refused to give me the artifact and leave me alone lol.

You can get the artifact with no problems at all by telling shadow to wait in camp

Was that dev me?

When it was first made available to the public I played about an hour or 2 and then stopped so I didn't spill the game. My one big take away was that I really hated all the companions, especially sheart.

I'm glad how well written they all ended up.
