The esteemed singer-songwriter behind "Me and Bobby McGee" and dozens of other hits was also memorable on the big screen in 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore' and 'A Star Is Born.'

Fool me once

He’s probably locked up in a vampire basement somewhere

Is it a finished vampire basement? Is there a vampire rec room?

No, there’s nothing down there, just a shirtless incel that browses Vchan all day. Scared of flashlights for some reason

Boring. The vampires should at least have a ping-pong table or something. What if they wake up early?

the last time there was a slate of dozens of celebrities that all died in the same year like this was 2016, and we know what happened that november, so, it doesn't look good for the fate of the united states, and the rest of the world. buy batteries, plant vegetables.

Thank god rational people aren’t superstitious.

Incredible talent. Not much of a singer, but a HELL of a songwriter.

All my rowdy friends done rowdied on down.

All the great song writers were mediocre singers. I'm talkin': John Prine, Steve Goodman, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Neil Young, even Willie Nelson I would put in this category.

A weird exception is Joni Mitchell. IMHO one of the best singers of all time, and an a-list writer too.

He's a poet, he's a picker
He's a prophet, he's a pusher
He's a pilgrim and a preacher, and a problem when he's stoned
He's a walkin' contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction,
Takin' ev'ry wrong direction on his lonely way back home.

The Pilgrim, Chapter 33

There's still a lot of wine and lonely girls In this best of all possible worlds

That policeman said Mr. Cool If you're not drunk then you're a fool I said if that's against the law Tell me why I never saw A man locked in that jail of yours Who wasn't just as lowdown poor as me

Later on in live version's he'd change the last line to "who wasn't either black or as poor as me".

I'm sure he wouldn't care for this, but I associate him most with the movie Millennium. I know it's an objectively terrible movie, but I like it and I like him in it.

Who was the other famous old country singer who died recently? I want to say he even resembled Kristofferson a bit.

You may be thinking of Toby Keith, who died in February.
