Hannah Payne murder trial: Guilty on all counts

Hannah Payne has been convicted on all charges in the death of 62-year-old Kenneth Herring.

Moral of this story: don't try to be a vigilante law enforcer. Let the police shoot the Black man; they're professionals.

Wow, just from reading this article this sounds like a victory. She had no right to try to take the law into her own hands and now this man paid with his life.

Our founding fathers did not want random people walking around with guns ready to shoot each other for traffic accidents! Meanwhile, in Ohio last year this happened: "Gov. Mike DeWine signed a bill into law Monday removing training, background check and permitting requirements to carry a concealed weapon in Ohio". What a fuckwad Dewine is and now more guns are on the streets than before. More people like this woman will end up becoming murderers over stupid situations like this.

I almost had a glint of respect for the man back in 2020 when he stood up to Trump on the whole lockdown/mask thing, but he has lost any points he won with me in the intervening years.

"When I heard the first verdict, I knew we weren’t supposed to show signs, but tears just started rolling down my face because at that moment I felt a relief that came over," said Jacqueline Herring, one of his sisters.

Anyone know they shouldn't show signs?

Normally, before delivering the verdict, the Judge will instruct the courtroom to refrain from any outbursts and maintain order. Herring may have interpreted that as not showing any signs, or Judge could have been tightening up because the high profile nature of the case.

What an awful lawyer.

Why? Dude was just doing his job.

I mean, I guess. I can just see him telling his client they have it in the bag and then he says things like...

"They didn’t show beyond a reasonable doubt that certain things happened"

"In her mind, she was a young individual trying to help out"

"No good deed goes unpunished."

The fuck kind of defense is that?

I think I misinterpreted your post, I thought you were implying the lawyer was an awful person. I wholeheartedly agree that he did a bad job.

drunk driver dies

A gun toting redneck goes to jail for life.

As a relatively upstanding citizen of society, i see this as a complete win.

The penalty for drunk driving is death.

The penalty for murder is prison.

You seem ok with this setup.

what do you have issues with? i presume this from your final statement.

please elaborate?

Are you saying Drunk Driving is okay in any way shape, form or fashion?

Murder shouldn't be punished with Prison time?

I'm not sure where our disconnect is.

I'm just pointing out that you seem happy that drink driving has a more serious punishment than murder.

Stop giving this cunt attention.

I'm sorry that you find the internet a terrible place where you have no control. it must be alienating. did you want to discuss it?

It must be lonely being you 😞

married, 10 years as of this year. Just like hitting the internet beez nest, watch the likes of you and your ilk squirm. you replied, so. musta felt some motivation to try and cut me down. must be lonely for you. im sorry.

Congrats on finding someone who can stand you

For sure, thank you. It's been a wild ride. finally saved enough to move into a starter home, we are trying for a child.

What happiness do you have in your life? hobbies? career? 8 billion people mean there are 8 billion ways to live, and i would genuinely benefit as a person if you had anything to share. The internet of things has us crossing paths when at any other time, we would both have existed and died without realizing the other lived at all. truly a wonderful time to be alive, despite humanity's consistent pitfalls.

what should be the penalty for drunk driving?

Less than the penalty for murder. More than the penalty for shop lifting. Maybe exactly the same as the penalty for reckless endangerment.

But I can say with certainty that being shot without a trial is not an acceptable penalty.

Even if the punishment were death, the average fucking citizen is not goddamn judge jury and executioner.

The toxicology PROVED he was NOT under the influence, which is a perfect example of WHY vigilante murder is unacceptable. Innocent until proven guilty, you piece of shit.

Fades. you seem distraught. talk to me cupcake. what's on your mind?

Gd you're such a tool.

If i'm a tool, what do you call the person who keeps racking the pins up for me to knock them down?

Wire Stripper? Crescent Wrench? If i'm going to be called a black kettle from the black pot, lets get our labels right.

You can be, Captain indignant.

what did you want our team's motto to be?

but she did judge, jury and execute him

and she was an average citizen.

hm...reality vs what should be

Yes, and now she's going to jail for it because that's not ok. Hmm, reality vs your stupid fantasy

what fantasy did i have? what reality do you think I'm missing. you should re check all the replies. you are lost mate.

no one was arguing that but im glad you kept your whore mouth civil at the end there. takes a monster to call one out. You Even Larger Piece of shit. 🤡🤣

I believe it has to do with the weights of the punishments.

Although, I will remain neutral in the argument. Drunk driving has the high chance for manslaughter, so could be considered equivalent to attempting murder. However, murder is murder, and should have a larger punishment than chance of murder.

Of course, in the grand scheme of things, we have no way of preventing the drunk driver's death because it was "more of a punishment", for the obvious reason that it already happened.

In other words, a dickhead is dead and there's no changing it, so no need to argue about "it not being equal"

He wasn't drunk, but having a medical emergency...

"At some point, my shirt had gotten grabbed. And he ….," Payne paused, "… he pulled my wrist and pulled me into the vehicle, and he said ‘I have something for you.’"

She said Herring let go of her wrist and grabbed her by the back of her neck. She said Herring then hit the gas, moving his car forward

What medical emergency makes someone do that?

Payne told Tucker there was a state officer present at the initial crash that she was a witness of. She claimed that the officer told her and another witness at the scene outright that Herring was inebriated.

This is hearsay unless he was breathalyzed. so it may be the case he was just trying to hit and run.

Every article says that he was not drunk. They all state it was a medical emergency.

In testimonies from detectives from 2019, it was revealed that a witness said Herring appeared to be in the middle of a medical emergency.

i haven't been able to corroborate that claim beyond a witness saying he looked to be in a diabetic shock.

You are so biased that you couldn't even take a minute to google before you spouted your nonsense.

Channel 2 Action News was the only news station in the courtroom when a judge ruled Hannah Payne will stay in jail despite requests from her lawyers to reinstate a $100,000 bond.

I will quote for you:

"Fowler said Herring had a medical emergency and wasn't drunk. It was confirmed by our toxicology that he had nothing, no drugs or alcohol in his system."

Oh and an edit to note - your quote above of her description of events is directly refuted by the video a bystander took. That's why she is going to jail for murder. The things she said there simply didn't happen.

Hey, you're right. allow me to correct myself

Hit and Run driver dies.

gun toting redneck goes to jail for life.

as a relatively decent and upstanding member of society where all that shit is illegal and worthy of punishment. I can safely say the situation resolved itself.

One less hit and run driver One less gun maniac.

One more day for us to breathe on this earth. Im not Biased, i just don't care for illegal activities and. was any of it justified? No.

But unless you have a time machine to fix all this. we are left with You, me and the mess they both left behind.

why are we being sensitive to those that erode the fabric of the social contract?

It was hit and run because he was having a medical emergency. There is a big difference between someone just driving off because eff that and someone having a medical issue. Do you honestly think that warranted death?!

One more day for us to breathe on this earth. I'm not Biased, i just don't care for illegal activities and. was any of it justified? No.

there is no undoing the Actus Reus, all that is left for the living to do is postulate on the Mens Reus.

That’s not an answer, that’s gibberish.

You:

Do you honestly think that warranted death?!

Me:

Was any of it justified? No.

there is no undoing the Actus Reus, all that is left for the living to do is postulate on the Mens Reus.

Actus Reus - The act

Mens Reus - The Motive.

We cannot undo the actions made, all we can do is complain about the motive.

none of that discussion helps anyone.

what was gibberish? i think you were lacking comprehension, i hope i was able to clarify for you.

Are you really going to trust the testimony of a now convicted murderer who was trying to win her case with these statements?

No, I am not going to trust the testimony of a convicted felon. the court system processed the case. Two families are forever destroyed by the actions of this woman. Humans are broken creatures.

Loss of life is never a victory

Disagreed. This is not an absolute truth.

that's subjective. Human nature be like Human Nature do. if you don't think so. check out what the Chinese are doing to the Uyghurs. What israel is doing to the palestinian people.

Loss of life should never be a victory, should. but alas for the cruelty of humans
