just hate both for whatever reasons. if you can't think of any, owning a private jet is definitely a good one.

This whole thing literally started with thr guy tracking Elons Jet and making fun of him for it. The memes are currently about Taylor Swift because she's now suing the guy without legal cause as a way to intimidate him.

Stop trying to make this a culture war thing.

She's not suing him, she's threatening to by sending a cease and desist. Anyone can send a C&D to anyone for any reason, they don't actually do anything until action is put behind them.

This is actually an important distinction, because if she does sue him it'll be really interesting to see the actual legal reason behind it.

She'd probably try to argue that regular updates effectively on what folks will assume is her general position endangers her and the guests she loans her jet to given the crazy fans and even crazier haters.

People have been getting violent over media popular with women and girls since Elvis.

That's the argument she has already given which is the exact same argument as Elon.

I would understand not wanting your plane tracked but come on it's a plane, that's what they do. If you don't want it, don't travel in a private jet. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Live tracking of their car could probably be dangerous for them, but a plane? Nah.

I wouldn't be surprised to have some articles in the next few weeks uncovering a massive smearing campaign against Swift funded by republicans.

Lolol progressives have hated her fire years for this. Now it's right wing backed?

The hate itself, no, the sheer deluge of memes about it coincidentally right after the Rs spooked she would use her status to give Joe Biden an official endorsement? Hardly unreasonable to suspect it given what we know they'll stoop to.

I started expecting the Kremlin to smear her a few weeks ago.

They have the resources and experience needed to shift public opinion with anonymous social media accounts. Swift threatened their candidate's viability (Trump) so they want to make an example out of her.

Turns out she's pretty squeaky clean. Best they can come up with so far is AI generated pics of airplanes and a conspiracy she rigged a football game.

To be fair, we did bully elon about his private jets so hard he bought Twitter about it...

Wait you're saying if we keep bullying Taylor swift she might buy Elon Musk?

We feed the worst billionaires to the billionaires who aren't actively trying to dismantle democracy. Once we've fattened those billionaires up, we eat the rich.

It's not about owning jets, it's about using the one she has for 13 minute fucking flights while preaching about climate change. If musk pulled the same kinda shit, he'd be mocked for it too, among other things he deserves to be mocked for.

Edit: also, you've had 2 chances to spell hating correctly and failed both times.

Do you think Musk is not doing similar things? We have a politician that flew to Sylt (island in Germany) with his private jet for a fucking wedding of another politician and he didnt get half as much shit for it.

What Im saying is: hate everyone equally or dont hate.

I don’t like Taylor Swifts behaviour anymore then you. But clearly someone was out for her and not for poor Elon. Where are the fucking memes about literally every rich person? Jeff Bezos disgustingly big yacht for example?

And if it really was about her double standards: Elon pretends to be an environmentalist whenever he talks about Tesla and electric cars. Yet his factories get build in the middle of water protection zones, a Tesla is shot into space and do you really think hes not using those 3 jets on a regular basis? Why have 3 after all?

Regarding your edit: maybe I’ve wasted my time writing this because clearly you’re not up for an actual discussion, but for sad and petty schoolyard behaviour.

I do hate EVERY billionaire and politician destroying the environment doing stupid wasteful things, elon musk can absolutely go eat shit, i'm not defending him. it's just that I think people are trying to give her a free pass specifically due to her political views more than anything else and that everyone, regardless of their opinions on anything should be held accountable for their actions. As for my edit, I just like being a petty asshole to people I don't agree with. I'm not even a native speaker, i've probaby made like 4 mistakes in this paragraph alone.

Raising awareness of private jet usage by targeting politicians is not going to be as effective as targeting high profile celebrities.

The positive is hopefully that rich folk start reducing their private jet usage so they dont get raked over thr coals and have a jet-usage-tracking-account publishing their ridiculous flights.

Extreme carbon usage like that is a huge issue (if not the defining issue) at the moment to a large amount of people.
Shine a light on all of it, expose it all. Every polititian doing stupid stuff, every rich CEO, every celeb. But it has to start somewhere

But somehow it's really important to raise awareness of this issue by targeting the most visible woman that is doing this. If you don't think this is part of a wider problem, you're not paying attention.

The person being criticized happens to be a woman. Musk has been criticized for the same shit, back when he tried to sue the guy tracking his private jet on Twitter. Guess who's trying to do the same thing right now?

If she didn't try sue someone for posting public information, nobody would have cared. Textbook Streisand effect. I believe, she deserves to be called out for that.

There is no point in calling out Musk anymore. Everyone already knows he is a piece of shit.

Ok, well TS has been roasted over this.
Who is next?

The roasters have shown billionaires are carbon spewing POS.
Theyve shown musics favourite isnt innocent of this, nor immune to scruitiny.

Targeting a politician isnt worthwhile, unless its a super hypocritical action (like greta taking private jets).

I guess a movie star? Someone from "dont look up", a parable for climate change denial? Hits the hypocrytical stance. Plenty of celebs in that.
Cant target J-Law, cause she is a woman (and thats unnaceptable to you).
Leo is already known as an oddity (what with never dating anyone older than 24).
So, Jonah Hill i guess?
Could try Rob Morgan. Hes black, i dunno how that fits into your prejudice of who can and cant be targetted.
Altho, they are only the actors. Maybe better to go after the writer/director/producer Adam McKay. Hes white, in his 50s, has had a successful career. Sounds perfect

If musk pulled the same kinda shit, he’d be mocked for it too

Yes, it is funny how more people are not calling out the Electric Car Jesus for swooping around in private jets and single-handedly undoing any positive effect his customers can have...

They were, this literally started with the kid tracking his jet and Elon getting so butthurt about it he bought twitter so he could han the account

I think he bought Twitter to turn it into a right wing cesspool. The "oops now I have to buy it oh nooo" was just a cover.

Yes go for the grammar You're a hero :)

The entire response was actually responding to your comment, and one side note was added to address your great spelling. You went for the side note.

Yes, ignore the actual point I've made, you're a master debater (maybe remove the de-)

1 more...

Timelapse of 525 private jets departing Las Vegas following the Super Bowl.

It's weird that the billionaires haven't heard of TVs

Why can't I generally be displeased with both for their jets, and for their. Billionaire status? Nothing else needs to come into it

Well, it's not really about the jets is it?

If people don't notice how much more society hates women for doing the same things men get away with everyday, they simply haven't been paying attention.

If they're only just now having it pointed out to them, after participating in the latest hate campaign, they're motivated not to understand because they don't want to recognise their own behaviour as misogynistic.

Talking about how they "hate both" might be true for any one person, but that doesn't change the wider trend.

...do you think men don't get shit for flying in private jets? They absolutely do.

Even in this very example, Elon got criticised for it a lot back when he was threatening legal action towards people tracking his flights. F1 drivers get roundly criticised for private jets. In UK news, Rishi Sunak has been getting criticised for using private jets. Etc.

Men and women get treated differently for many things, though, yeah. Sometimes this is more to the detriment of women, sometimes it is more to the detriment of men. It's a fair bit more complicated than you make out.

You don't need to turn this into a culture war thing.

Sigh. Everything on the planet is about hating women and black people. It's so tiring. Everything is just blamed on dudes.
