Mitch McConnell Gets Testy in CBS Confrontation About Health Issues

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) seemed to think the health of the 81-year-old minority leader of the U.S. Senate was not an issue worth discussing during a sit-down interview with CBS.

His tight-lipped answer didn’t seem to satisfy Brennan, who wondered if McConnell meant he could still serve “at a time when we are talking about incredible dysfunction in Washington?”

“I think we ought to be talking about what we were talking about earlier, rather than my health,” McConnell shot back.

Fox News Sunday’s Shannon Bream also interviewed McConnell. She said in her introduction to her interview that she also asked about his health and he said “he’s doing great, and has a clean bill of health.” She did not air her questioning on the subject or McConnell’s response.

I definitely prefer the CBS model wherein we actually ask politicians questions with follow ups, instead of assuming answers like Fox does.

“I think we ought to be talking about what we were talking about earlier, rather than my health,” McConnell shot back.

Fair enough, Senator. Can you tell me, what were we just talking about?

Exactly my first though... Interesting that he didn't specify the subject. I'd be curious if he, on the spot, could have answered that question.

Whoa there and back up just a quick second!

He has lips??

It's public business if any politician is fit to serve us, whether they're having health issues, conflicts of interest, or anything else. He can just say "I had a few issues/seizures (etc.). I'm taking care of things and getting medical treatment. I'm doing well, and I'm fit to serve. Now let's move on"

But of course he says nothing like that.

Lol dude probably couldn't even slur his way through that if he wanted to these days.

...my health,” McConnell told CBS.

As a priest-friend once told me: "The pope is never ill, except when he is dead."

Yes, and we all know how reasonable the Catholic Childfucker Association is so that's a great example of why this geriatric fuck needs to publicly release his health records or get the fuck out of office.

The turtle needs to take his shell and go home.

So throw him in the river so he doesn't dry out.

I fully admit I was not entirely what you might call « sober » upon the composition of my previous comment here, so I was hardly even skimming.

I appreciate the correction, your technique was sterile and precise.

lol. I hate McConnell, and I think discussing his health is important and it was a good line of questioning, but that's the least news worthy "getting testy" I've ever seen in my life. It's like the standard politician line when people are focusing on them, rather than the issues.

Quick frustration, easily agitated?

Sign of dimensia?

Imagine his system decided to reboot halfway through that interview? He'd be done.

Pay close attention. He'll take your brain to another dimension.

If Mitch comes out of a trance spitting Beasties bars we are definitly in a new galaxy.
