What decade can I expect to stop hearing about that dumbass movie or any echo of it?

if the films go as planned, the fifth one will hit theaters late 2031, he has 'ideas' for two more after that.

and then you'd have the 30th anniversary re-re-release of a re-re-remastered first one... so, maybe, the 2060s?

Did the fourth one come out already? I honestly have no idea if I missed it or if it's somehow still not released yet.

The second movie came out in 2022 and the third one doesn't come out until 2025.

There's going to be a third one? I thought the second one added nothing of value, what are they going to with the third one? Discover another ultra rare resource that is going to become the focal point of human exploitation, but this time in a creature that lives underground? And poor Jake needs to relocate his family with the mole men?

And a fourth and a fifth, both of which have already had some work done (fourth one apparently has 1/3rd consisting of a time skip sequence that has already been filmed). And if they do well, Cameron has said that he has plans to make two more.

He really likes Avatar.

Why is there such a hate-on for this movie? Like goddamn. Sure it wasn't anything spectacular or groundbreaking (compared to the first one), but it's a goddamn treat to look at and it's fun to watch.

2 more...

Some holographic history projectors that fell through time from 2254 only briefly mention the upcoming Avatar sing-along, so it's getting closer.

2 more...

They are beautiful looking films with boring stories. I liked the spectacle of it in 3D, but fuck was it the boring after an hour.

fuck was it the ring after an hour.

That sounds trippy

You're saying the exact same thing as him just more angry....

They didn't have to make the plot mediocre and boring. They chose to do so.

Legendary films are those with good story and often high budgets. Avater was not one of them.

I got bored with it. It was twice as long as it needed to be. I didn't even finish it when I watched it.

That's because it's the wrong avatar. We need a sweet ATLA game.

There's a guy making an ATLA fangame for quite some time now.

That’s a Dreams game, and as much as I love dreams, it’s really more suited to experiences than it is full fledged games. It does look great though.

Dreams games aren’t actual games in the traditional sense

There's a decent Legend of Korra game by Platinum. Simple, short beat-em-up in the style of something like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta

I thought this was about the third movie and I got really bummed.

I got really indifferented, because I don't even remember the plot of the first film anymore. Also because it's the triple-whammy of awfulness, a mobile MMO by Tencent.

::: spoiler spoiler for the first Avatar movie It's just Fern Gully :::

I thought it was just Pocahontas with robots, but I had just watched the animated version around a week before I saw the first blue Avatar.

Don't forget Dances With Wolves! That's another one it's similar to.

Your description is also correct, according to the transitive property of Fern Gully/Pocahontas films.

So many red flags, they could start a communist revolution.

I never liked the first movie. The second one was pretty good imo.

The first movie was James Cameron’s anti-capitalist masterpiece! They have the technology and medicine to heal the parapalegic protagonist but don’t want to spend the money on him. They can sucker him into military service for their interests however.

An anti-capitalist masterpiece that earned its creator billions. Someone's playing both teams.

Oh no whatever will we do if we don’t get another 3hour snooze fest?!

Taste is subjective. If you don't like it, that's fine. I thought the first two were enjoyable, even though predictable.

There are other movies out there I'm sure you enjoy that I would find incredibly boring.

First one was an okay movie, second one was basically a screensaver that was sometimes annoyingly interrupted by explosions.

Haven't watched the second one (not sure if I ever will), but I'm definitely stealing that.

GTA and Elder Scrolls Fans: "Bitch, please"

If you as a half life fan are still waiting to learn what happened after Alyx' father's encounter with that one combine thing... I admire your naivety

::: spoiler Half-Life: Alyx Well, according to Half-Life: Alyx, it never even happened. :::

Haven't played that one yet.

Best one yet if you have a vr headset imo

Don't have a VR headset, motion sickness is my nemesis :(

Oh damn. They have accessibility options to help mitigate that, like teleporting instead of gliding around. But fair enough to not buy one, i dont really use mine anymore

Who the fuck has been waiting for two years for a mobile game ? Lol

Whales, that's.who. no place to buy yourself some wins than mobile games.

I like letting stories finish and would have enjoyed the final installment as much as I did the first two… with mild to moderate enthusiasm.
