Can someone explain the origin of this meme I feel like I’ve skipped a month of memes and I don’t know what’s going on

Someone posted about Americans being able to drive for like 13 hours in Texas and still be in Texas. The punchline was that Europeans can't comprehend it. Then a bunch of euro memes came out showing similar distances in Europe.

Perhaps related, there was a news post today about an effort to develop a standardized system for time on the moon.

Ahh thank you for giving me the skinny as they say in old timey gangster times 🙏

Good luck not getting destroyed by a Mooninite within the first or second moon hour though.

Missed opportunity to do a full circumference and claim you can drive infinite amount.

Or maybe that’s the next step of this meme.

How long is a moon hour? Since the moon is a quarter of the earth, I guess a moon hour is like 15 minutes which makes 69 moon hours a total of less than a dog day so...

Moon is tidally locked to the earth. So its day length is the same as it's orbit. That's 29.5 earth days which (using the logic you supplied) means that a lunar hour is approx 1.23 earth days.

(using the logic you supplied)

I used a logic? Sir, this is a shitpost community

I can only see the moon half the time so that makes it 7.5 minutes

terran

Earthican.

By driving at 10mph, you could drive around the entire moon in one day, and it'd still be the same time of day.
