What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Chocolate with peanut butter swirled in. I like this for shakes and floats too.

Vanilla. No sprinkles or toppings or sauces of any kind, just plain old vanilla ice cream.

I'm with you, but I don't want some cheap ass vanilla. I do prefer a nice rich French vanilla or like the ones with the vanilla bean strewn about in it.

like the ones with the vanilla bean strewn about in it.

That sounds delicious.

Cookies & Cream is my go to, but so far this summer, I've been eating more high-end strawberry ice creams from local shops, and the fresh strawberries make all the difference.

I really like vanilla, because I love adding toppings and such to my ice cream.

If I'm going to eat it straight though, mint chocolate chip is a frontrunner, or pretty much anything with peanut butter.

Also while I really like both coffee and ice cream, I'm strongly of the opinion that coffee ice cream is an abomination.

Chocolate peanut butter is my favorite, but I actually like coffee ice cream.

Rum and raisin.

My friends call me an old man for this, but what can ya do its fucking delicious.

Coffee. Only certain brands, though. Some have a bite like alcohol, which I don't like at all.

I think HΓ€agen-Dazs Coffee has the best texture and flavor combination of all ice creams I’ve had.

Hmm. I responded yesterday but don't see my reply. I think lemmy.world is having serious congestion problems.

As a kid, some 30+ years ago, my mom brought home a special edition flavor of her normal brand called Southern Lemon Pie. One time, and I've been chasing that high ever since. It was a lemon flavored ice cream with chunks of graham crackers crust mixed in.

Chocolate. That's it. Just chocolate. Some of you are crazy.

I'm a huge fan of cookie dough, cookies and cream, and birthday cake. But if I had to choose a single flavor, it'd be good, strong vanilla.

Local ice cream place has Espresso Fudge flavour and it’s to die for. Coffee or coffee + chocolate ice cream is my jam.

Edit: and I really like cookie dough ice creams too.

A local place near me does this thing occasionally that they'll mix in a whole cheesecake into a vanilla ice cream, plus sometimes some fruit or berry (peaches, raspberries). The best part is when you get a bit of crust...

Chubby Hubby

Though in more common flavors I'd go with mint chocolate chip

Ben and Jerry's used to make oatmeal cookie chunk that was phenomenal. They discontinued it in 2014.

Cherry! So delicious!

Rocky Road

(Though an ice cream shop in my old college town, Columbia Missouri, once created a Count Chocula flavor and it was AMAZING.)

I had to scroll all the way to the end to see someone else who loves chunks and marshmallows in their ice cream.

I like multiple textures. Gooey marshmallow, crunchy chips. Put it all in there.

I eat low carb ice cream and the mint chocolate chip is usually the best. regular ice cream I'd go chocolate, coffee, chocolate with peanut butter.

Oh shit, this reminds me of the icecream I bought 3 months ago and forgot!

Matcha. 🀀 The closest Asian market is 30 minutes away, so I usually make it myself.

The store I work at had a really good house brand flavour called espresso almond fudge. When the packaging changed, the name did too, and it's never been on as good a sale again due to a lower price set also being introduced, so I don't know if it's the same anymore, but I loved it. It was similar to the Chapman's cappuccino, but with chocolate covered almonds mixed in. God I hope for a good sale again.

Guess I'm the only person here who likes strawberry...

I had PB&J ice cream once. Maybe not my favorite, but it was yummy and memorable.

Favorite is probably vanilla, with a splash of bourbon on it. So good. Also it's good with cayenne pepper, with fruit, with chocolate, and alone. Vanilla is dead exotic too, we forget that because it's so popular and plays well with so many other flavors.

Haagen-Das makes a pineapple coconut ice cream (not sorbet). When I can get it that is my favorite, as a standalone ice cream. But it's less universal, doesn't go with everything like vanilla does.

Bailey's Irish Cream. I don't really drink and yet love that. Worked at Hagan Dazs for a while and those Bailey shakes were where it was at. Matcha and Pistachio are next in line.

One of the new weekly special creations at my local ice cream shop. It changes every week, but I like trying the new flavors they create.

I once went to an ice cream place in rural New York and they had a flavour called Gram Central Station. It was the best flavor I've ever had in my life. Get this - it didn't actually have gram cracker bits in it. It was just innocuous white ice cream with a really rich gram cracker flavor to it that was unlike anything I've had since. So damn good

My local shop does the BEST Strawberries and Cream with bits of strawberry in it.

Chocolate chip, but like actual chocolate chip, that is -> chocolate ice cream + chocolate chips.

None of that deceptive vanilla

Aperol sorbet. It tasted like orange with the rind. Amazing tart treat.

Cookies & Cream. I also really like black raspberry but I think it's hard to find beyond the east coast.

Chocolate brownie and salted caramel, or chocolate and peanut butter. Or maybe white chocolate boysenberry.

Birthday Cake ice cream. It's the last bastion of sugary junk food my stomach will tolerate.
