To be honest I have plenty of games in my backlog to play. Buuuut if there are any really good deals on Tunic, Pizza Tower, Tetris Effect or Cult of the Lamb I maybe consider them.

I should probably reduce my backlog first though...

Got cult of the lamb in the last sale. Was really fun and ran well. A bit repetitive with managing the cult in my opinion. But there is an option to stop time while you are on crusade (and cooking without minigane. With that it was worth it :)

I heard there was a big update a couple of months ago - did that change much?

Pizza Tower looks like an absolute blast. Definitely picking it up on sale if I can.

Oh it is, and every single song on its track is banger as well

Seconding the Pizza Tower recommendation. It was pretty fun, and I agree the sound track is great.

I really want it too, but I dont think it will go on sale yet.

We all do xD, and yet we will still buy more games because steam summer sale!

Same. I'm playing Watch Dogs Legion right now, gonna finish the main story before I choose another game.

I've never tried the Watch Dogs games - what do you think of Legion?

I'd say get WD2 over Legion. It's the best one out of the three.

While Legion has some interesting mechanics, it kinda feels half-baked. Didn't grip me as well as WD2 did. Unless you want a snarky British digital assistant talking to you (and I mean that endearingly), then absolutely get Legion.

Thanks! Have you tried WD2 on Steam Deck? I've just had a look at the ProtonDB page and there seem to be some issues (crashing due to a memory leak?)

Not unfortunately! I have it directly from UbiSoft and I haven't got that properly set up yet.

As someone who doesn't play a lot of AAA games, it's legitimately gripping. Enough that I bought it on both PS5 and PC/Deck. Granted it was on sale both times.

Wait what? You have to play your games first before you can buy more? Well, fuck.

I wish - If that was the case I wouldn't be in this situation :'( My will power is not strong

Hoping for a sale on Tunic. I picked it up on my Switch but honestly have been far happier with Deck performance of games I have on both platforms that I'd rather go through it on the Deck

Yeah, Tunic on Switch is rough...

I was also shocked how much worse dead cells performed on the switch, kinda made me decide to stick with pc/deck for non exclusives now

Interestingly I first played Dead Cells on switch and it seemed to run well, but that was a few years back at this point. Did an update tank performance or something?

The opposite I'd say, there were some performance issues on release which were fixed a few weeks later.

I noticed lots more "stutters" at random times than I ever saw on PC / Steam Deck. I moved it to onboard storage and that helped some but still played better on the Deck

That's honestly pretty impressive considering how minimalist the art style is. I played in on Steam Deck and it played flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Oh darn. Since I have a Steam Deck I've been wishlisting games like a mad man. It's going to hard to not buy new games. One of the reasons I got a Deck is that I want to clear out by backlog.

I am actually exactly the same πŸ˜‚ Wishlist is exploding since getting the Deck, sadly time to game is not.

Check out Isthereanydeal. Tells you other stores that sell a game as well. You can import your wishlist.

Depends what's on sale - but I'll buy Baldur's Gate 3 soon or at release, maybe Starfield too depending on performance.

I'd really love a game that's playable on the Steam Deck on the TV though, Rocket League and SpeedRunners has been great for this. Even moreso if it has local multiplayer.

BattleBit Remastered has been really fun with M+KB recently (and they backed down on the anti-Linux anticheat for now), I wish there were something similar for sports games just focussing on fun over realism, like the old SNES football and hockey games. Something like Mario Strikers but where you manage a team and their stats and abilities, etc.

There is a hockey game "tape to tape" pins itself as a rouguelite, with 4 player local co-op. Still in early access but seems interesting.

You might enjoy the Super Mega Baseball series. Worth a look, anyway.

If you want some fun "sports" games I'd recommend:

  • Super Blood Hockey
  • Super Slam Dunk Touchdown
  • Regular Human Basketball (Great local co-op game)
  • Windjammers 2
  • Lethal League 1 or 2

Battlebit back down how? is there a link to a statement? last i read they only reverted to eac temporarily until they resolve some bugs with faceit

I am not sure you will like the genre, but can I humbly recommend souldiers? That game is amazing, and does really well in handheld and tv.

You might really like Tape to Tape or Turbo Golf Racing

I'll be honest, I own so many games from the last sale that I'm probably going to sit this one out. I have something like 140 games, and of those the majority are on my backlog, so I won't be running out any time soon.

I'll say it.. Last Of Us

According to protondb, it runs much better now. However, isn't it a bit early to be part of the sale?

Dredge is on my list and seems perfect for the Deck

I am playing it right now! It was at 20% sale a few days ago. Don't know if it'll get even more discounted later.

It is nearly perfect for the deck. I only have a small grievance with moving things in the inventory. It takes a long while to step through the slots. But maybe I'm doing something wrong.

If Celeste goes on sale I'm gonna grab it again. Already bought it twice for switch and epic but will happily give them more money for a steam specific copy.

Amazing platformer

I'll buy the Dock if it's on sale. I might actually buy it anyways but might as well wait one day to see if I can save a few bucks.

I've put off buying it since honestly it feels a bit overpriced since you can get a hub that does pretty much the same job for 20€.

I bought a 3rd party "Deck Dock" that works perfectly fine for 30€ or so.

I got a $20 Hub and wouldn't recommend it. For whatever reason the USB parts didn't work.

Looks like it's on sale.. 20% off. I'm in doubt, not sure if I'm going to use it as much as I think.

Alright that's decent enough price. While you can get 3rd party Dock pretty cheap, counting in shipping and the power adapter, it rounds up to 70€ for me. For 10€ more I can get first party support, that's actually competitive value.

All about indies at this point for me! I found these after slashing my wishlist in half!

. Rusted Moss . Roboquest . Protodroid DeLTA

I've heard Prey is good so I'm hoping that goes on sale.

It was being given away on Amazon Prime Gaming recently, not sure if it still is. Redeemed as a GOG code.

I haven't heard much about that one. What excited you about it?

It's sci Fi and it looks cool I guess.

It's an awesome sci-fi horror FPS/RPG, with stealth and metroidvania elements. It's from Arkane, who made both Dishonored games.

The story and atmosphere are really good (don't look up spoilers if you intend to play it), there are multiple ways of reaching your objectives, and multiple endings according to your choices. The graphics and design are really nice.

Not a big fan of horror games in general but it's one of my favorite games of the last decade.

I haven't played it on the Steam Deck, so I can speak to its performance, but I really enjoyed this game. It's a whole lot of fun of you like mysterious, creepy games with some jump scares. I'd say its closest comparable is BioShock 1 & 2.

Oddly enough, I've only played Bioshock Infinite.

Infinite is a very different type of game than 1 & 2. I absolutely loved all 3 (1 and 3 more than 2 tbh). But if you really liked 1&2, you may not like infinite, and vice versa. 1&2 are dark and suspenseful. Infinite is well-lit and they stopped doing most of the jump scares. But the gameplay felt amazing and the story was a 10/10.

Probably can't expect much of a sale since it's still in early access, but Shadows of Doubt has captured my attention like few other games and I'm really looking for an excuse to pick it up.

There's nothing else like it, even in its current early access state. Can't wait to see where they go with it.

Already grabbed uncharted. Played last of us (not on deck on my pc running nobara) so am excited for another naughty dog title

I'm hoping some of the Zacktronics games go on sale. I wasn't able to play any of these before I got my deck last year and I've got some catching up to do.

I love these games, but be careful - playing shenzenio on deck sounds awful because it has a lot of typing. Exopunk too. Infinifsctory and spacechem would be good though.

Hi-Fi Rush, BallisticNG, Klonoa, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, PowerWash Sim, Symphony, Invector: Rhythm Galaxy. Maybe Marble It Up too.

The rest are games that work better on PC (e.g. supports steering wheels, requires a beefy PC).

I've got 621 games in my Steam library. With Epic, PlayStation, GOG, Amazon, and Origin it's over 1000 games. So it's been fairly easy to ignore Steam sales for a while now. That said, for the past year I've found myself looking at my wishlist thinking, "What can I buy that would be a good fit for playing on the SteamDeck?" My resistance hasn't been as strong as it was.

I've bought far, far more PC games since I got my Steam Deck than I ever had before. This thing rocks

My wallet has already burned through enough. The last thing I needed was a Steam Summer Sale to start.

I don't have any particular games in mind, but I'm sure I'll pick up a few things. I've really been enjoying casual games lately - I just beat Defense Grid 1 and 2, and Monster Train, so I'm looking for something along those lines.

Elden Ring

God of War

Hoping either one gets a good discount because I have a lot of train rides coming up.

Gonna be a though sale for my wallet. In the coming week I’m hospitalized πŸ˜‚ so I need a few games to burn.

Won't be on sale, but if you like city builders or similar stuff, try Factorio! It looks a bit weird and anachronistic at first but BOY is that ever an addictive game!

I already spent over 50 hours in it since I bought it several weeks ago. For comparison: I have about 200 hours in Cities: Skylines, one of my absolute favourite games ever!

I've got several games on my wishlist, but I don't know how many of them are available with full support on SteamDeck πŸ€”

Anyway, God of War could be the only one I would buy this season.

Even if it doesn't say it has support if it has controller support and doesn't require anticheat you've got a great chance that it will be fine.

Viva la return policy!

I bought it and runs and looks great - only thing is, I got bored about 1/3 of the way in - its very repetitive.

Going to buy Hunt: Showdown with my friend. We're burned out from PUBG and want to broaden our game choices.

Nothing probably. I have WAY too many games already. I had to force myself to cut down on just buying new ones instead of playing the ones I already have. I might treat myself to Baldur's Gate 3 in August tho.

I'm hoping Earth Defense Force 5 goes on sale so I can pressure some friends into getting it to play with me.

In my cart so far:
Downwell
DoDonPachi Resurrection
These two are mainly for my vertical arcade cabinet, which is occasionally powered by the steam deck. I should probably check if there are new pinball sales as well.

Dead Cells
Had this on Switch and I need to have it on SD.

Marvel's Midnight Suns
This is now -60% and I've been waiting for a sale. I didn't expect the price to drop this much for a such a new game, but I'm not complaining 😁 If the reviews are correct this a great game for turn based stategy buffs like me. And its by the same people that made the XCOM games. Can't wait to play this.

Hopefully nothing I want goes on sale. I have to cut back on my spending.

Although, I have $30 set aside for games every month, so you never know.

I don't even know yet. I finally just got my Deck (showed up at my door yesterday) so it's all a whole new world for me at the moment lol.

Will happily take recommendations from people that have them to give, though!

I enjoyed Brotato on the deck, it’s a very good pick up and play title that works well with the deck. Vampire survivor is also good, but it has performance issues on the deck by the late game.

Final Fantasy X worked great on deck, so if it’s on sale and you like JRPGs I’d recommend it

Cool, thank you! I've heard good things about Brotato and am definitely planning to check out both that and Vampire Survivors on Deck.

FFX is one I wouldn't have thought about - might be worth a try!

I just picked up Wingspan for 50% off so nothing yet. But I’m open to ideas.

Serkiro Shadows Die Twice, but I'm a jobless teen and I'm not sure it's worth the money rn

Cuphead, Control, Persona 5

Might have to see though, dont have much cash rn

Nothing particular, but I am scared. I have a a couple of games from Sony that I would like.
