Lust: Valentines Day

Gluttony: Thanks Giving

Greed: Halloween

Sloth: 3rd Saturday of October

Wrath: July 4th, and/or tax day

Envy: Christmas

Pride: The entire month of June! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

July 4th is patriotism. I'd classify that as pretty sinful pride.

What makes Halloween about greed?

Going around trying to gather as much candy as possible.

I mean getting as much as possible.. I guess? I don't think that felt like the focus in my family

Us Americans partake in gluttony for every holiday

If you think the hard-right are bastards about Gay Pride Month, wait until you see Gay Lust Month.

And if they don't like it, we can show em gay wrath

Ahhh you thought this was something else lmao.

But fr where is my Month of Wrath.

We live in a greed system though. So that one is basically all year round.

Lol yeah we would need to divide it so that each month can be dedicated to a subcategory of greed.

You’ve got No Healthcare month, No Free School Meals month, Income Inequality month, etc, and maybe we start each year by dedicating January to Nixon, Reagan, and the year 1971.

I'm here for sloth month whenever anyone is up for it

I was going to start up a campaign for sloth week, but I couldn't be bothered.

We should do a workshop for that, it sounds like my kind of week.

How does mid 2031 sound? You're probably busy then. Yeah, I'm just going to assume you're busy that mid-year and hope someone else reschedules and runs the workshop with a bunch of other people that aren't me and that they figure out a great week so that I can one day read about sloth week having just passed and briefly consider trying to catch it next year because it sounds like my kind of week (assuming I can just passively experience it).

I got up to the word after 'do a' but it was kind of long and reading is such an effort...

What about Good Friday? πŸ”¨πŸ˜΅

Edit: My bad, I just assumed murder was one.

Nah, people can murder a little sometimes, as a treat.

"Thou shalt not kill" was really just a pro forma commandment to pad out the numbers.

The one that really matters is "thou shalt commit adultery"

This is related, but I just realized that I've been conditioned to expect a Rick Roll every time I click a link in a comment, even though it hardly ever happens. My brain just always says "Here comes Rick Astel or whatever his name is".

I haven't seen this meme format before, what the heck happened there?

That's former Prosecutor General of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya during a press confrenece during 2014 after Crimea was taken over by Russia

Damn, I haven't realised this shit has been going for 10 years already =/

Portions of the Donbas region has seen active fighting for a decade as well.

I find it weird that some people call LGBTQI+ life a "sin". On the other hand, some christian denominations accept and have gay priests. The people calling LGBTQI+ life a "sin" seem to me more like extremists in a "christian" trenchcoat.

The joke is that pride is one of the seven deadly sins, not really pride in the sense of LGBTQI+. It's more a pun, maybe a tone deaf one, but this is a shitpost community
