Me to The Emoji Movie:

No, not harshly enough. They can't keep getting away with it. Morons need to stop watching obvious garbage out of mindless curiosity.

What should we watch?

Anything but obvious cash grabs and uninspired spinoffs like the emoji movie.

Even stuff like The Room are WAY better even from a creative process standpoint. That thing is an adventure. The emoji movie is just a soulless product.

So don't watch the new Godzilla or Meg movies?

As someone who did watch the Meg because someone else wanted to watch it, I'd say please don't. You lose a lot more by going to watch it than you do by not watching it.

Were they cash grabs or safe bets? There is definitely a gray zone for "safe bets" where the creatives actually do a decent job. Lazy trash from execs, but if the creatives manage to deliver it can still achieve "not a waste of time".

I am so old

This film won't happen. Skibidi toilet had 15 mins of fame for generation alpha and only had legs from older generations not understanding it because it's toilet humour and absurd.

The kids already don't care about it. If the Minecraft movie went through development hell for 10 years, this movie is not getting made when they realise the kids already don't give a shit.

I'm in my 20s and this makes me cringe.

On one hand I'm happy for the creator getting rich, but the whole appeal of the shorts was that they're high quality shitposts...

Don't fuck this up Michael Bay, we're counting on you for a faithful adaptation.

Skibidi gradually evolved into more than 70 1-to-5-minute mini-epics depicting the infinitely escalating war between the Toilets and the Cyborgs. Each video is explosive, violent and free of any discernible dialogue.

Should be right up his alley

Yeah, except he’ll have to figure out a way to make the movie mostly about a forced love story between two characters completely unrelated to the original series, and only show anything Skibidi-related for like <1/2 the movie.

All it requires is that the film ends with "What I've done" by Linking Park but this time it's [s l o w e d + r e v e r b e d] [c h i l l m i x]

Everyday we set one step farther away from the light of God and towards 2 hour long Idiocracy ass movies.

I can't wait until m night shyamalan puts out an ass movie with a twist.

Everyday we get one step closer to the edge, and I'm about to break.

But the meme is on its way out. We're in ironic enjoyment of how cringe it is right now. Movies going to bomb

Hollywood can't move fast enough to capture that white hot meme heat

Why do we think we're just now getting a Borderlands movie?

I think the hate it gets is undeserved, Skibidi Toilet is objectively an impressive achievement of 3d animation and minimal surrealist storytelling, it's obvious that the person who made it has been doing this for a long time and is very skilled. People are just dismissive because the main target audience is children and not them.

Yeah, let's not pretend that we didn't like stupid Internet stuff when we were younger.

Is Skibidi Toilet this generation’s Llamas With Hats or Charlie the Unicorn?

I've only caught a little bit of it here and there... So take what I say with a grain of salt.

But I'd say probably no. For no other reason than I don't remember any quotable lines. If anything I'd say maybe more along the lines of like happy tree friends?

Watching from the first episode is like watching someone get in their 10,000 hours. Visuals and story telling skills getting just a little bit better every single episode.

I'm imagining conversations with the costume department.

  • So half of the actors will be wearing a full toilet costume
  • A what?!
  • Yes, only their head should stick out, but make it completely mobile. And also appropriate for stunts
  • ...

I'm not gonna be "that guy", but I remember watching dafuq's animations years before skibidi toilet was a thing.

I'm not gonna be "that guy",

Immediately proceeds to be that guy.

I remember when Little Big released the OG Skibidi

Excuse me, but Scatman John would like a word with you, from 1994 to be exact.

I remember watching Imogen heap gmod edits

Michael Bay should start clearing space to display his second Oscar

Thank you for clarifying this is, in fact not an Onion article. I saw this earlier and assumed it was a joke.

It's still a joke, but it's also real. Fuck.

Before today I had no idea what a Skibidi Toilet was, and now I've got close to two hours of content under my belt.

I'm genuinely impressed by the attempt to tell an overarching narrative through "found footage" from multiple authors witnessing a war with rapidly advancing technology, with the trimmings of conspiracy, infighting and betrayal, all without words, and no more than 3 emotes (thumbs up, zoomer dance, finger wag).

I can't say that it's good by any means, other than as a display of talent for animation and direction.

Still, I have no idea how they could pull this off.

Sure, our timeline is fucked, and the weirdest shit happens all the time. But a profitable movie about sentient toilet heads in a war against camera heads is not on a single persons bingo card.
