What are you listening to RIGHT NOW?

I just put on an album, The Eminem Show, and I'm curious what everyone else has on. Music, a video, the television, some mystery noise from next door? What's gracing your ear holes as you read this?

The sweet white noise of a fan, a bed time requirement.

Ahhh, delightful. I usually opt for an open window when it's raining, but I respect the fan

My kid is playing their guitar in their bedroom - I can't make out the song, but it sounds like they're just noodling around at the moment. Dog is panting as we just got back from a walk. Constant whir of the fan.

Noodling is just part of getting better, it's awesome that they're playing! I hope they stick with it

Polyphia - Remember that you will die

Really good, mostly instrumental tracks, and the gimmick is that they play different melodies in different time signatures. Really fucking catchy. Neurotica and Playing God are two of my favorites off this album.

Depeche Mode - Everything Counts

A NileRed video where he's "Turning old jewelry into pure gold bars".

I've seen enough NileRed videos to assert this with 100% confidence: That guy will not die of old age. And however he goes, the cleanup will almost certainly require bio-hazard suits.

I'm listening to an album I'm producing checking for kinks and weird stuff to edit out or songs i should cut to replace with new material that I need to write. I find it's easier to hear weird things that I recorded when I'm not really paying attention, haha.

On July 6th, 1994, 14 firefighters were killed on the South Canyon Fire near Glenwood Springs, CO. In this video we will experience the fire from the perspective of 11 firefighters that were there that day.

Dune Part Two official soundtrack. Better than Part One and more variety in the music.

Also, Ado since she’s coming to my city next week on her tour.

An audio book, Esrahaddon.

It’s not a bad book. I just have ADHD issues.

My tinnitus. It’s half past midnight and all is quiet except the constant scream of being inside my head.

You should get a white noise machine with a real fan. I use it to stop myself from thinking so much so I can sleep.

Thank you. I use a fan most nights. And I have an mp3 Player with several albums like “peaceful rain sounds for sleeping”. Sometimes they help.

What Does Your Soul Look Like, Pt. 2, by DJ Shadow. On a weekend away, drinking wine with a Spotify playlist on.

Alabama Shakes - Boys and Girls, specifically I have "Hold On" running on loop. That song has just been like brain candy for me recently.

a nebulizer and Antiques Roadshow

US or UK? Estate sale or boot sale? :)

US, but you reminded me I should cast some UK AR from BritBox this weekend.

Mark Wahlberg is good but he’s no Fiona

Absolutely. And "old" is older. Even the music is better.

My partner and I always joke about the old vs “old”! In the UK version it’s like “this dates to the late 17th century” and America is like “this has been in the family for a long time, my great grandfather bought it in 1981.” I have a huge preference for the presenters in the UK version as well. Glass guy, the one guy who looks like an austin powers character, snotty furniture man.

Agreed. Although I get a kick out of US jewelry guy, he's so NYC. And the woman who does Sports Memorabilia actually makes me feel enthusiasm about sports for that moment.

EEEEeeeeeEEEEEEeeeeeee

in my ears.

Everything else is silent except the occasional car vrooming noise in the distance on some road out there.

My washing machine and some muffled rock music from my neighbour

The Nightly Radio. It’s a web site described as “Sad. Old. Radio”. A continuous loop of thousands of old records collected by the creator(s). Very international and many genres. It’s not for everyone, but I love the vibe, esp. while working. thenightlyradio.com

My annual run through of Jesus Christ Superstar, the studio version with Ian Gillan as Jesus.

GF is battling in Baldurs Gate. Karlach is jimmy on the go.

Oh nice, I'm still not very far in. Waiting for hubs to want to resume our co-op game

The Out Loud pre release from Cage the Elephant

Oh shit I haven't listened to cage the elephant in a hot minute, I gotta check this out

My cat noisily licking herself. My headphones broke today so I’m in the process of looking for a replacement, and generally being grumpy that I can’t continue my relisten to A Clash of Kings without my husband being treated to Roy Dotrice narrating Tyrion railing Shae for like half an hour.

A ticking clock with occasional sleeping dog sounds.

tinnitus and sometimes a car driving outside

The buzzing in my ears as a result of a long day drinking beer, watching football âš˝, and travelling by train.

The Doors - Light My Fire

I don't even particularly like this song, but it's what came on YouTube Music.

I'm listening to the bathroom fan whirl while I take my post-coffee dump.

I was listening to the new Gesaffelstein album GAMMA today, it’s worth a listen!

Lace your heart with mine Let your sleeping soul take flight Take me through the night Down down down by the river Down down down by the river

Nothing, I just woke up and am slowly getting started, my apartment building is also quiet, so it is just silent.

Lucky you don't have noisy neighbors, nice!

Oh, my neighbors can absolutely be noisy, if my oldest neighbor really wants to blast music loud, I can't even be in my bedroom, but I have never complained since I have never had an issue where I've been woke up or prevented from sleeping due to their music. Also, last time the blasted music was a year or so ago.

People need to be able to make noise in their own home during the day, I don't complain unless it messes with my sleep.

At the scene, medics estimate the man to have been dead for several months, or even a year. When questioned, the next door neighbor stated "I had no idea, I just enjoyed the silence, you know?"

The sound of my air fryer toasting my tuna sandwich.

The fan on my heater (it's a gas stove, not a cooking stove but the other kind) and it has a pretty loud fan that runs during and for a short time after heating.

Assassin's Creed with an overlay of the Bladerunner soundtrack.

Hometown Aftermath by Avith Ortega, as part of an atmospheric playlist I put on for CDDA during the homebase grind.

The official Spotify Video Games Soundtrack as been my go to for commuting this past month(s).

Nothing at this exact moment, but this is the song my Spotify paused on when I got home from work. (Welcome to lady Hell) https://open.spotify.com/track/06OTh3RF2IIBukgVHkrNDv?si=iDrcv4wLRc-84s_JP5It6A Pretty good, though my favorite song from this artist is Enchanté https://open.spotify.com/track/784FnVGX6Td1t2hvDlxUI5?si=DnH3OL5aSQKKQ_MeXzRrBw

Ooh, I like this! A boots and cats drum beat and I love the lead singer, this is really good. Adding to my list lol

Thursday's episode of Marketplace (in podcast form) by American Public Media.

Just found this artist on tiktok and in really digging their latest album.

Romdom - Jane Doe

It's glitchy jazzy EDM. Not a genre i listen too a lot of but i am hooked on this artist

The Sound of Silence

Seriously, it’s quiet in here, but now you’re singing the opening to that song.

Expeditionary Force Book 4, Black Ops, by Craig Alanson on Audible.

Nothing. I have some Kebu on pause in VLC, a bunch of YT browser tabs open with some vids I plan on watching when I get round to them, but apart from a gentle hum from my PC's fans the house is silent.
